JetBlue became the first US airline to require passengers to wear face coverings on flights to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The new policy goes into effect May 4 and comes after the airline began to require all crew members wear face masks on flights.
Wearing a face covering isnt about protecting yourself its about protecting those around you, said Joanna Geraghty, president and chief operating officer, JetBlue.

Get ready for some outlandish suggestions and regulations when flying.
I was on a cross country flight today, from the midwest to LV.
Nearly everyone I saw, both on the flight and at the airport, were wearing masks already.
Finally, some Protection in areas where eye bleach is not readily available. How many innocent passengers have been irreparably harmed over the years, by unexpectedly coming face to face with clearly diseased fellow passengers, who had been tragically allowed to mingle with the population, unmasked?
I stopped flying years ago because of what these companies force their customers.to do.

Their lawyers probably told them to do this, not doctors. Id bet the same with the sports teams closing down stadiums.
We now know it can linger in their air for 3 hours and infect other people. And all the exhaled virus lands on surfaces, contaminating them. Masks keep the virus of asymptomatic carriers to themselves: out of the air, and off of public surfaces.
Today, right now, you would sit in a stadium with 100s of people within 50 feet of you?
You’d walk up the aisles of a hockey rink or basketball arena and breathe the air today of 1,000s of random strangers?
If I wanted to I would. When I wanted to go food shopping I did. What’s the damn difference? I havent taken ANY precautions or practiced ANY distancing since this ideocy started.
I would definitely. I live my life without cowering in the corner like a frightened baby.
Until herd immunity or a vaccine, this will be a necessary step to get people flying. And for those who want to try ‘civil disobedience’ on one of their planes, it’s a felony, so you’ll have a ‘reception committee’ when you land.
