The coronavirus would be reduced to easily extinguished “embers” by the time next fall’s influenza season strikes, President Trump said at Wednesday’s briefing of the White House task force, even as his top health experts continued to offer a decidedly more guarded outlook.
“We will have coronavirus in the fall. I am convinced of that,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top epidemiologist at the National Institutes of Health, at the same briefing some minutes later. Fauci’s blunt style has sometimes annoyed Trump and often thrilled a public hungry for accurate information. He added that preparations made now would likely mitigate the impact of the virus come autumn.
Both men were speaking in the context of comments made the day before by Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to the Washington Post. He told the newspaper that not only was the coronavirus likely to return in the fall, but that its effect would be compounded by the flu.
“There’s a possibility that the assault of the virus on our nation next winter will actually be even more difficult than the one we just went through,” Redfield told the Washington Post. He added later that the nation was bound to face “the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time.”
That would put enormous strain on hospitals and possibly lead to widespread shutdowns of the kind that have marked the first months of 2020.
A White House plainly irritated by Redfield took the press to task. On Wednesday afternoon, new White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a Fox News interview that “the mainstream media” had taken Redfield’s comments “out of context.” She argued that he had merely been advising Americans to receive their annual flu vaccinations.

Maxim of ethics for doctors…first, do no harm
It means that sometimes the cure can be worse than the ailment. Sometimes it may be better that to do nothing.
In the case of public health, the cure of closing an economy and throwing countless people into poverty is certainly doing incredible public harm.

I dont know who is advising Trump but this is a biological weapon, not a natural disease, and it was designed to fight fiercely to spread itself, infect, batter down or defeat the human immune system, debilitate, then hide in various parts of the body at undetectable levels -
Then reemerge in cycle after cycle
The next big wave in the fall will be on people being “ reinfected’ plus all the hosts who are now self-isolating - and the virus may even be more lethal for having been artificially denied the opportunity to mutate by a wider spread because of the lock down policy. Now add in the regular cycle of some types of influenza at the same time - people perhaps being infected by both

Thats why we need to get more people out by summer, so the cases of covid infection may be less intense and severe due to temp and humidity reducing fomites and people getting sun and exercise
Our best hope is not a vaccine ( by the same experts who have failed to produce an hiv vaccine in 30 years of work) but treatments, coupled with eventual weakening of the pathogen...maybe

What Trump, the advisory board and many people need to realize is that NYC and NJ is not America. America is not that sick. Chicken Little Give Me Stuff Cuomo doesn’t represent America’s condition even thought MSM tries to put him in that position.
