A federal judge has rejected a Columbus bridal shop's lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order allowing it to reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The judge says state officials have legitimate reasons for restricting business operations. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says the state's goal is to safely get as many people back to work as possible starting May first, beginning with hospitals:
DeWine says large gatherings - including sporting events and concerts - will not be among the first to return because they present the most social distancing problems.

Figures
if the bridal shop has only 1-2 customers at a time and finds a way to have ladies wrap in shower curtain or some thing before putting on dress - maybe there are ways shop can reopen. Wedddings aren’t necessarily big gatherings. No reason they can’t find a way to sell dresses etc.
sounds logical... for a freaking liberal!!
ML cannot be decreed by a Legislature or Executive; but it sure can be the usurpation of the day for the Judiciary.
If a woman weds, that matrimony may make her a mother. Killing unborn babies doesn’t negate motherhood, but it successfully prevents the birth of living humans. Both policies logically further the illegitimate government objective of eliminating the next generation of potential Americans. Forget that clause in the preamble of the formerly effective Constitution about securing the blessings of liberty for our posterity. Americans now deny God, recoil at the notion of His blessings, despise their ancient liberties beyond killing babies, submit to their deep-state dictators, and annihilate their own posterity.
So in MI buy booze (state makes tax money) and buy marijuana (same) and check in at the crowded Planned Parenthood building for an abortion.
And look at the pictures of crowded beaches in California despite the same no congregating shelter in place ruling as other states have. Just ignored if they feel hot and want to go to the beach. Logical? No.
Im no lawyer but it seems that the closing of businesses is being done with the consent of the business owner. If the owner doesnt consent, the judge should be able to point to the exact statute that says they cant operate their business. Bonus points.....the judges feelings dont count.
As much as I hate the overreaction, this isnt the time. A judge is not going overturn emergency actions. Once this is over, Im pretty sure lawyers will be among the winners because there are going to be a mind boggling number of lawsuits against this tyranny. Forcing a business to close, rather than directing them to conduct business in a safe fashion? Since when is our government allowed to force you into financial ruin?
They couldn’t wait to shut down Trumps XOs because they were an abuse of power and overbearing...
But now they can’t wait to talk about the supremacy of executive orders because there’s “danger”
That’s not even a power given to the nation or states in the constitution.
May every future bride and her mother in that area, let this clown know how they feel about this decision.
Lyin’ DeWine has no ideas or plans - he just says crazy crap and expects everyone to obey.
I remain ashamed to admit I voted twice for this jack-wad.
Once again a liberal federal judge allowing his own persona;l bias to be his guide and not the letter of the law. No mention of the constitution.
This is stupid. I’d like to see almost the whole country open up. When practical, it may be appropriate to require a mask (bridal shop might be one of those locations). Alternatively, they might mandate a fraction of the room’s fire code capacity (if you are 1/10 of capacity, that may be enough for social distancing). My (outdoor) gun range was closed, even though the shooting lanes are at least 9 feet wide. If they wanted to get extra cautious for shooters (the most useful citizens in our country), they could open only odd lanes for a spacing of 18 feet - outdoors.
Shutting down the country and then opening specific “essential” businesses is the wrong perspective. They should open everything that can be opened and make a list of the (probably very few) venues that cannot open even with precautions.
