Kim Jong Un is rumored to be dead, according to a Hong Kong broadcast network, while a Japanese magazine is reporting that North Korea’s rocket man is in a “vegetative state” after he underwent heart surgery earlier this month.

This is a problem with dictatorships. The line of succession is never very clear.

Another problem for dictatorships is the current dictator often kills any potential rivals for power.

The military is usually the strongest group but then they have to compete with the secret police.

So if he is dead, what we have is a power vacuum. Until a clear winner shows up, they try to keep it quiet.
