The number of coronavirus cases and fatalities continued to climb this week in Los Angeles. But Mayor Eric Garcetti says the rate of increase was slower than in recent weeks, and initial data suggests the region’s curve is flattening and beginning to bend back down.
That’s why it will be especially important for Angelenos to stay indoors this weekend — even amid record-setting heat, Garcetti said in his virus briefing Friday.
The mayor reminded residents that all city and county beaches, trails and recreation facilities are closed.
“There is a direct correlation between what you do this weekend and how long this will take and how many lives we will lose,” he said. “Keep that in mind and do the right thing this weekend. If you go out and hit the beaches and the trails, the ‘Safer at Home’ orders will last longer, more people will be sick and more will die. But if you stay home this weekend, our case numbers will drop and it will stop the spread of this virus and be able to start reopening the city sooner.”

It is implicit in the Mayor’s statement that transgressions will be punished by a longer lockdown.
Remember when it was about “flatten the curve” then it morphed into “stopping the spread” by shutting down for months because the media and gov makde every Low info voter scared that going outside will kill them and everyone they love?
Good to see. The terrified soccer moms can hide at home and wear a mask when they go to get the mail if they want. You can’t keep people cooped up for weeks on end, with no end in sight and expect them to comply.

I'm in Montana where we live half our lives at 40 degrees or less. Semi remote location on a mountainside. Bought our land 25 years ago when there was nothing at all up here.
But ... winters are getting longer and these old bones aren't getting any younger. We are set to close May 29th on our winter home in Arizona. 55+ active adult gated golf course house we started on 9 months ago. Plan is to sell here and relocate down there. Then we'll be looking for a summer home to escape the heat. This place would work for that but it is just too much work keeping up.
Lousy timing real estate wise, but perfect timing age wise for our next chapter. Going to be interesting seeing how long it takes me to acclimate to your weather.

Weekday traffic was normal yesterday in my midwestern city. People wearing masks in stores that demand it; most not wearing them in stores that don’t. Social distancing being respected everywhere. I’m seeing the same in my neighborhood with walkers stopping to socialize along the way.
People are apparently comfortable being out and co-mingling at SafeSD. It’s time to get back to work.

Indeed I do. These dictators are now proudly stating that one death is one too many (Gov. Beshear, D-KY). It’s insane and the sheeple bleat in agreement. They all babble on about how re-opening puts money before lives, being too stupid to understand that lives very much depend on money.

We’re about to have a front row seat to a social experiment that no true American wants to see. I predict we’re going to see that too many of those collecting unemployment plus Uncle Sugar’s $600 weekly bonus check will be only too happy to sit at home as long as they have the cover story of “if you go outside you’ll kill grandma”.
Selfish to the core but with the appearance of being selfless. Pretty much like every SJW to come down the pike with few notable exceptions.
