Considering some young numbskulls eat tide pods, it would probably be a good idea to warn the younger generations.

Ethanol is a disinfectant. Hand sanitizers contain 65% ethanol.

Vodka and gin contain ethanol.

Tonic water contain 83 parts per million of quinine. (Hydroxychloroquine is a synthetic analog of quinine.)

It seems like the President is telling us to have vodka and tonic cocktails.

I’ll drink to that!!

When it comes to recommending treatment for a pandemic, the president needs to rely more on his medical professionals.
His message was not articulated clearly, however worthy it may be of consideration. And then to follow this up with ‘I was being sarcastic’. is not good. Only Mr. Trump could (and will) get away with that kind of a walk back.

Too much politics being interjected (pardon the pun).

Best to start with a transcript outlining what Trump said and just let his words speak for themselves.

Trump said — ““I see disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute, and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that. So you’re going to have to use medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, that’s pretty powerful.”

Sorry, Rush, but Facebook and Twitter say that he did. It’s like television saying it to an older generation.

“What if there was a statistic out there that said that for every COVID-19-related death, we have lost 600 American jobs?”

Not a hypothetical but, not quite right. /S

Thing is it’s not 22 million that are out of work.

It’s 30,000,000.

That’s right, I said it!!!

30 million which includes independent contractors and business owners who aren’t on the unemployment rolls

Think 40,000 deaths and that number becomes 750 people have lost their jobs for every death.

And not all of them are receiving more in benefits than they make in their vocation.

Many are actually holding on for dear life as their monies have been halved, cut in 2/3rds or are now 10% of what they were two months ago.

If you were a decent waiter at many restaurants in California, Manhattan, Long Island, Miami, etc you easily earn over $150,000 and I will bet you would have bills commensurate with that kind of income.

But, here is the disaster unfolding for them: Right now anyone who earned more than 90,000 is losing some $2,000 a month in income. Painful but, not the disaster.

Here is the disaster - The Federal Givernment is only giving 2,400 per month on top of your state unemployment for 4 months.

Now, let’s say you are rehired at your old restaurant. How much money can you expect to earn in the next year?

A whole truck of a lot less.

Restaurants won’t be coming back to full census of customers anytime soon and if they are required to practice Bubble Boy hygiene then they will never come back

I expect most waiters, if they resume work, to earn maybe 1/3rd what they are use to.

Cascade effect? Poorer service will result because in many restaurants tips are pooled and if the waiter, bus boy, dish washer, maitre de, etc are earning less it will reflect in their quality as they think what else they could be doing to earn more money that what they earn now.

Think 2-3 additional jobs if they can get them because they will be competing with everyone else, unlike just two months ago when they were making enough money in their one job.

Neiman Marcus, Kohls, JC Penny, Macy’s and many other retailers are going tits up.

Where are the people who worked at those places suppose to get a replacement job?

I have friends who have worked for a few of the companies above for 20-30 years and are pushing 60 years or more in age.

Not only are their job prospects in retail probably zero, they need to retool their heads for another type of work and well, good luck. It’s gonna be a hard long road.

I wonder how many of those will simply hit the ejection button, hoping to at least ride the ejection seat to heaven?

How many were just thinking of retiring or are already retired on a pension from these companies?

Time to get a job? Good luck with that again and you will need to pray.

What of Los Angeles where so much of the entertainment business presides? Yeah, maybe you don’t care a bunch of intellectually bankrupt , moral equivocators, who spout stupid things but, they are real people and many are my friends.

They are Forked. And don’t think the movies. Think Broadway, Symphony, Ballet, Concerts, traveling shows, etc. There were some really, really, really nice people who worked in the ticket booth and now don’t have a job.

Let’s take that to the absurd. The man/woman who cleaned the toilets at these venues - NO JOB PROSPECTS

The men and women behind the scenes like the electrician? Gone and not coming back.

Oh, I know. What about the cop, who’s kid is in college and he works security in his off hours so he can afford to send his kid to college?

Dreams? Hopes? Aspirations?

By the time we get to end of summer we will be at 50,000,000 or more unemployed as job loss, after job loss affects all the other jobs.

Vegas? Disneyland? Universal? Knott’s Berry Farm? Sheah, Right! and monkeys might fly outta my butt.

All those hotels and restaurants up and down the coast of California? Disposable income ain’t gonna be what it use to be and those businesses will have to compromise on both price and quality of service.

Heck, I can’t even go to my favorite restaurants right now in Big Sur, Carmel, Monterrey, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay, San Jose, San Francisco, Camarillo, Morrow Bay, and on and on and on.

I know many of the waiters and bartenders there made 6 figures.

Good luck with that and I wonder about how they will fare in the future because “we did this the smart way”

Yeah, Forking right you did.

The numbers are proving you wrong

LOL.

No, he was asking if we could inject cleaners into the

lungs, it was speculation not a request.

Who knows, maybe it will work on cancer cells too,
sounds like we have the perfect volunteer!

The first one to bring up injecting bleach or alcohol into people was a reporter. Trump told the reporter that they were discussing disinfecting surfaces with those items.

Of course Trump didn’t advise drinking bleach and I doubt anyone here believes he did. However, independent of Trump, the concept of medical use of ‘bleach’ deserves some defense. Chris ‘Fredo’ Cuomo’s wife recently suggested adding a half cup of household bleach to a bath. Although I don’t endorse her new age rationales for that I also don’t endorse the knee jerk rejection of the ‘bleach bath’ concept by medical ‘experts’ who appear to have done no research before pontificating.

Bleach baths at that very concentration have been a common suggestion by Dermatologists, like me, for years. It’s discussed on our website. Most often used for kids with eczema, but also for some other rashes including some in adults. Sodium hypochlorite’s medical use goes back to WWI where a 0.5% solution, Dakin’s solution (look it up in Wiki!) was the biggest medical advance of the war. Grossly contaminated wounds were rinsed out with it resulting in dramatically lower death rates compared to similar wounds in earlier wars. Antibiotics with even better results had pushed it aside, but with growing resistance to them old resistance free Dakin’s is getting renewed attention. For an ‘average’ adult bath using 40 gallons of water that half cup 5.25% bleach would be diluted 128 times to 0.04%. For small kids I guesstimate half as much water used, so halve to 1/4 cup bleach. Their hypersensitive skin tolerates that dilution well.

The Left distorts his message then the Right starts debating/ defending the distorted message. So sad.
