The best places to live in Ecuador are in the small towns north of Quito.
Cotacachi, for instance, is heaven on earth. Temperatures all year round are 70s during the day, and 50s at night. It’s a mile and a half above sea level, and on the Equator.
Guayaquil is far south of Cotacachi, and on the coast.
It’s just the flu bro!
Sounds nice!
I can’t disagree with that at all.
All I want is honest reporting/ evidence, but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. Too many people, too many agendas.
It’s impossible to know who is telling the truth. I have chosen to put my trust in President Trump and VP Pence.
#Ecuador is one of the hardest hit countries by the #CCPvirus
So much for the hope that COVID-19 would wither and die off in hot climates.
Guayaquil is where you go to get to the Galápagos Islands.
Obviously hot weather is not going to solve the problem.
“I live in Ecuador. “
So what do you make of these videos and the situation there?
The gaslighting is so intense by both sides that it’s hard to know who or what to believe. A first hand report would be nice.
#11 and #12. Not a word about any Red Chinese presence in Ecuador in the #11 reference NY Times article. WONDER WHY?
Unfortunately I live five hours from Guayaquil and cannot provide first hand report. Cant get there nor would I want to go right now. It is definitely the hot spot. Its 4mil people. Some nice areas but mostly poor and crowded. I wouldnt be shocked that some bodies were cast into the streets but I dont think thats the case now. We are really locked down too. Only one trip allowed to the market per week, monitored by last license plate digit, and one person per car. We have one person shopping for five people. His car is hosed down with some unknown liquid coming and going. Only one death that we know of in our area of about 50k.
The US embassy arranges a couple of flights a week to MIA or FLL. But we would have to travel to Guayaquil or Quito. Quito is nine hours by bus but no busses now. Eight or seven hours by taxi. Regular South American Airlines are not flying. We usually take Copa or Avianca. We need Orlando MCO to open and Avianca to start flying. Maybe mid to late May before we get out. And yes we are older and in the higher risk group so we havent been to anxious to travel. We think a good decision unless unrest starts.
LOL. Good one. AND...like the movie...maybe some of them are actually dummies. :)
The “entertainment” aspect of fake news is never far away.
Thanks. Stay safe.
I looked and they’ve only had 500 or so deaths. . . that may be a lot for a country of 18 million, but uh... hmm... I don’t know. I was thinking maybe the very poor had no choice, but many of the bodies were in coffins so somebody had some money. I wonder if somebody took the money to pick up or bury the bodies and then never did. That would be horrific in another sense.
