Spread of the coronavirus was allowed to run rampant in Ecuador. The city of Guayaquil has been worst affected. Rotting corpses in body bags line the sidewalks, uncollected. pic.twitter.com/a8i251jJwr

"Not a slum looked like a park. "

Looks like a (once)well groomed cemetery. Just dumping some caskets then just body bags.... Gruesome indeed.

Guayaquil is a very densly crowded city, and a major port, not just for Ecuador, but for all of South America.

Terrible suffering right now, because the health care system (and mortuary system) just became completely overwhelmed. But there’s no way many people in that city could just “stay home”, either. They’re poor, they have to choose between eating and risking exposure. That’s not a tough call: you’ll definitely die if you don’t eat, but there’s a fractional chance the CCP Virus will kill you. So they do what they have to do.

Traditionally, bodies are left to rot in the street. They are not put into caskets left in the streets.

Exactly. Been to both Guayaquil and Quito. This is their typical propaganda and the deaths could be from whatever. Could even be government killings

“Now they say Ecuador coronavirus deaths are 15 times higher? Based on what?
Will you excuse me while I laugh?”

I’m pretty sure the New York Times didn’t say or assert the above, so I’m not sure why you would be laughing at them in this instance especially since the New York times isn’t mentioned by anyone except you.

It looks to me like you’re laughing at the claim coming from twitter regarding Ecuador. Are you?

Never mind about the Times, I didn’t see the additional post that you are referring to.

Thanks China!

What a mess. I don’t know if these are real or not real, but it is still a huge mess any way you look at it.

Guayaquil is a city I’ve read was starting to get irritated about all the Americans moving down there to retire on the cheap.
This might be a disincentive, if true.

I’m not sure how much faith I put in that number.

I’m not sure how much faith I put in any of the numbers really, but it’s a similar amount of fate that I put in the video.

The video could be false, but it could be real.

If it is real, holy crap!

If it is false, then shame on whoever made this. But I have to say it looks fairly convincing.

Or maybe a cemetary. Where else would bodies go to die?

Agree. But Ecuador is highly involved in the drug trade so there can always be high body counts.

That didn’t have the look of a Paliwood production.

I know, South American leftists are much better at it than the middle east idiots. Especially if they have the help of our democrats.

Nothing would surprise me at this point. The left is trying to get full control of our voting rights, and there's nothing they won't try to get that. They know full well that if Trump is re-elected he'll continue to MAGA, and he'll probably get two more Supreme appointments. Nothing scares them more than that.

This is the continuation of the coup attempt and the power play that will give them power for generations if not permanently, so they're all-in.

I live in Ecuador. They don’t have a lot of testing but I’m sure infections reported are grossly underreported. Deaths are reported like US. If it’s suspicious it’s CV death. So the 560 is too many. We have been on lockdown since the US has and it’s enforced. The bodies I see in the pictures appear to be lined up at a cemetery. It’s common to use vaults particularly in low lying areas.

How do we know that these deaths in Ecuador were not the result of 9mm holes that were leaking?

Maybe, and maybe not. About two weeks ago, our landscaper was helping fix a problem with water not draining properly in our yard. He has some distant family still there. We were discussing the shutdown, and he mentioned that Ecuador was having a terrible problem. This is exactly what he described to us.

We don’t, and the origin and content of the tape should be questioned and verified.

Journeyman TV: Perspectives on the Pandemic: A Conversation with Dr. John Ioanniddis, Stanford University, March 23rd, 2020
IOANNIDIS: You have on top of that a very acute situation, a situation of perceived crisis, a situation of crisis. You have media following every step and every second what is going on with every patient, with every single death. I mean, can you imagine what would happen if the sixty million deaths that happen every year on this planet we had a meter counting them, one by one, and having stories written for each one of them? It would be horrible.
I mean, we have gone into a complete panic state measuring so far, a sizable number of deaths but nothing close to the total cumulative mortality that we see both in this country and around this world. I think that panic component and that over-emphasis of media attention is probably making things worse. We do want to sensitize people to follow instructions, to try to keep the public health measures, to shelter in place, if they have sheltered in place, but we don’t want to get them scared. We don’t want them to get into panic. This doesn’t really help...

There’s also a lot of that media halo that is surrounding this whole adventure. If you just go to Google - I did that, and I just typed “coronavirus,” and you get something like nine billion results. If you type influenza, you get something like a hundred million results. So, I think that we have really a pandemic of news stories and news clips and anecdotes about coronavirus. And I don’t want to diminish its importance, but we need to get solid evidence along with the anecdotes, at a minimum...
