A federal judge on Thursday blocked a California law requiring background checks for people buying ammunition, issuing a sharply worded rebuke of onerous and convoluted regulations that violate the constitutional right to bear arms.
U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of San Diego ruled in favor of the California Rifle & Pistol Association, which asked him to stop the checks and related restrictions on ammo sales.
The experiment has been tried. The casualties have been counted. Californias new ammunition background check law misfires and the Second Amendment rights of California citizens have been gravely injured, Benitez wrote in a 120-page opinion granting the group's motion for a preliminary injunction.

Thanks for responding to my post. Having gone to high school and college in Miami, I knew a lot of good Cuban-American folks who, as you state, “lost everything when Castro came to power.”
Get all the California gun lawsuits into Sr Benitez’s court.
The 9th circuit has been rearranged by Trump and McConnell due to vacancies. The silliness from that court is likely over.

California is a land of paradoxes when it comes to firearms. In spite of it having onerous regulations, it’s the largest market for guns in the US. It’s also home to a large number of professional competition shooters.
That's not importing...
So there's a reasonable chance that 2-out-of-3 judges chosen for the initial case will be R-appointed out of the 13R 16D current makeup of the Circuit. On the en banc case (if there is one), the R's would probably have to pull a 6-4 majority among the 13R- and 15D-appointed judges (leaving out the Chief Judge) in order to provide a 2A-favorable ruling.
“There is no ammo to get. It’s all sold out already due to the current situation.”
You can get ammunition from the stores in Prescott AZ. Not every pack size, brand, or caliber is available from every store but you can enjoy a good day of shooting and not worry about running out.
HOORAY U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of San Diego!
Navin Gruesome. 40 million vs. how many bureaucrats? Wheres the dossier on Gruesome? On Pelosi? On Feinstein? etc., etc. BROTHERS & SISTERS in the state/cities/countryside need to lock arms with ammo against these D.C. DIVIDE & CONTROL TYPE TOTALITARIANS. Its going to get gruesome.
Youre living in a gangsters paradise and YOU ARE NOT THE GANGSTERS.

Watch them, listen to them, doxx them...so that you can touch them (if necessary).
Good to hear this. I recently found an old Colt revolver in the house we rent. It belongs to the owner and he has forgotten it existed.
one of my friends lives in Cali, he said he cannot buy ammo for calibers of guns he does not have registered with the state,
and for some reason he does not feel he should have to register any guns he purchased before he moved to california with the state
Avoid registration.
The ONLY reason for registration is government control.
Anyone know where the 120 page ruling is? His write up on the magazine ban was epic. He is a true constitutional loving judge.
Remember that senator Harris had everything to do with these laws when she was Cali AG and in the cali legislature.
Her finger prints and support are all over these laws.
Never let her get a chance to do to our nation what she did to cali.

Well, whaddya know...hooray!
I have a problem with that picture, no way could you sleep with that much cold (room temp) steel. Believe me, cold steel radiates COLD Air. I’m just saying as a former (400 Ft. plus) ship welder. Not that I would know anything about steel. LOL!!!!
Trump appointee?
ammoseek is a good site
That magazine ban injunction was stayed until the appeal before the 9th Circus is complete. Oral arguments were held on April 4th.
Hopefully this ammunition purchase injunction remains in place during the appeals process.
Any idea on the case name, and if the opinion itself is available online?
If you see this online let me know please. Also, do you have a link to the mag ban decision?
