Since you're a carrier, and you've mentioned the package delivery and whatnot, I'd be interested in your opinion of this proposal... Reduce general delivery to every location to 2 or 3 days a week. On the other days, you'd have just package delivery. Would that be workable? Would it save money, or travel?

No it would not be feasible. Do you want us driving semi trucks of packages down your street every other day to deliver packages? Especially around Christmas time?

You’d have to ask the same of UPS and FedEx. What would they do with an increased volume on days the USPS doesn’t deliver packages? They already offload about 30% of their packages to USPS now
