Kill off the Post Office and every person in America outside of the cities will have problems getting bills, checks, deliveries, and the rest.

I propose laying off half the workforce and deliver mail 3 days a week. MWF for one zip code, TTS for the next, etc.

You want to save the postal service? Make it matter again.

For many years the postal service delivered almost everything that mattered, from es about family and friends to paychecks.

Now they deliver mass mailed ads.

“according to the two people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity” Here we go again anonymous sources quoted by the Wash Post and MSN. Until it comes from Munichin or Trump, it is likely fake news.

Here's the best solution: Turn the USPS into a social media hub.

That's right - For an annual or monthly fee, let Americans get a secured email address for digital mail and a social media page. Let the USPS expand into banking, debit cards, short-term loans, and online bill-pay.

This will immediately destroy the Left's stranglehold on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. With the USPS, every American can engage on their page without the fear of censorship or shadow-banning.

And for packages? Current USPS post offices can still arrange package pickups or a post office box. Rural dwellers can still opt for mail delivery.

There is no need for mail delivery as it exists today. It is an anachronism. It also wastes precious resources. Digitize all regular mail, let the Post Office implement online bill pay and checking and debit accounts, and it'll become solvent and profitable within 3 years.

Retired postal worker. USPS Is a typical mismanaged government bureaucracy.I think it should be privatized.

How much of their stuff rides on USPS these days?

Most of my deliveries come via the RAM vans.

Not really.

Grandma has no problem with mail, and higher degree of on time deliveries, and any important mail is sent via UPS of FedEx.

What a great idea. Why don’t you send that suggestion to the White House?

The lack of junk mail the last few weeks has reduced the crap I transfer directly to the trash by probably two thirds. It’s been great. One upside I can find to this whole disastrous mess.

I sent a suggestion to my Congressman a few months back. It's just a logical decision. You can't privatize it or get rid of it because it's in the Constitution. So the next best step is to bring it into the 21st Century.

There's just no need for mail carriers delivering mail anymore, unless of course if you live in a rural area or are disabled or elderly. All regular mail should be digital, and packages can easily be picked up at a Post Office that's converted into a storefront that also helps with email, online bill-pay, short-term payday loans and such for people who are not computer savvy. A USPS as a social media hub would destroy YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
