Education Secretary Betsy DeVos issued guidance Tuesday reminding colleges that financial assistance provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act was never intended for illegal immigrant students.
As reported by Politico, the rule states that only students who qualify for federal financial aid, which includes U.S. citizens and some legal immigrants, are eligible for the more than $6 billion in emergency aid funding intended to go directly to students impacted by the pandemic. The $6 billion is part of the more than $14 billion Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, which is part of the $2.2 trillion CARES Act.

Guidelines published on the Department of Education website further explain that eligible students include those who have submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or students who have not filed FAFSAs but are eligible. The CARES Act allocated $14 billion for higher education institutions, $6 billion of which must go directly to students to help with expenses associated with campus closures.

Eliminating the department of education will require an act of congress, not a presidential decree.
Jimmah Carter, not George Bush, was the president who signed the act that created the department of education in 1979.
Well, my brother has met several illegal immigrants recently who have already received their stimulus checks and were bragging about it. He has not received his. There is a lot wrong with this country....or what’s left of it.

The Department of Education was signed into law by Carter in 1980. Since it was created by law (legislation) it can only be undone that way.

Make sure the aid to students is transparent, unlike their admissions formulas, and there ae severe penalties for providing aid to illegals, there, problem solved.
He's going to cut off funds to Public Broadcasting first, silly.

Yeah, well he will need to get busy these next four years and push hard to get the unconstitutional FCC, FDA, D of Ed, and Dept of Energy and a bunch more dismantled and MAGA by restoring our Free Constitutional Republic.
If Congress doesn’t cooperate, on clearly stated constitutional grounds, he could simply nullify their existence and give them no executive power.
