San Francisco Chronicle ^ | April 23, 2020 | Leah LaGrone

Big companies like Ruth Chris, Potbelly and Shake Shack that are receiving large coronavirus-related Small Business Administration loans have caused an uproar. But far less attention has been paid to who the SBA excluded from relief: People who work in the sex industry.

Government needs to back off making moral value judgments shaped by Christian values when it comes to women's work, and instead to focus on the harsh economic reality facing millions of women. How one chooses to labor is an individual choice, and every job ought to provide a living wage. Only once we treat all workers with dignity can we level the playing field economically.

I just don't have a whole lot of empathy for the unemployed pimps.

Perhaps this is too strange for Free Republic, but I continue to wonder why our governments go easier and easier on drugs, wherein dealers prey on victims, ruin families, ruin lives, destroy souls... But nobody seems to able to tolerate a woman who wants to make a few bucks by letting her body be touched in an affectionate way by a lonely man. (Call me crazy.)

Besides, the sex industry is used to getting screwed.

Let them wank off on their own dime.

THey can always pick up a shovel

THe argument of sex industry for economics makes as much sense as the argument of abortion because of economics.

1. aborting for economics is a rich people’s issue, not the poor, because women who abort also abort other things in life easily like career etc.

2. WE cannot mix apples and oranges. Either these women are empowered to abort and do the sex industry, or it is not a choice and somewhere along the way a pimp decided not to care for her pregnancy and sex life and health issues.

In other words, let the customers and pimps pay for that. They are responsible for her ill health, not other neighbors.

Prostitution is a nuisance as it is, catastrophic distraction and morale drain at the workplace, so let us not exploit the tax payers to top it off on top of sexual exploitation.

So how would these support payments work?

“Hi, I’m a sex worker, can I have a check?”

I cant wait...

Here is my thought. There is a particular type of pervert out there that EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN tolerates...and most approve of.

Namely a politician.

This is the problem. Places like California and New York spend money they don’t have on this type of nonsense and then expect the rest of the country who are fiscally responsible and live by those “Christian values” to bail them out. Its time for the neopagans to realize that the red/blue divide reflects a very real moral, cultural and political alienation. The pagans have no affection for Christians. Of course those “Christian values” will sadly result in those “backward Christians” following their values and without judgment in the end come to the aid of the decadent pagans. Pagans are lucky that way.

Many, if not most female prostitutes, were sexually abused as children, are drug addicts, are trafficked or enslaved but this is all good with the left.

It’s a legit small business in that locale. Why shouldn’t they qualify? I guarantee you a laid off worker in the abortion industry qualifies.

You have a point. Even a good point.

But a sex worker with a clientele should be able to continue working by making herself available to private clients in some legal way. E.g. She serves and intimate one on one meal at her private rooms with bacon, eggs and other stuff.

Or a 14 year old boy who had some quality shower time with a Penn State football coach. Shall we ban football, too?

"Treating the sex industry as illicit reinforces flawed moral judgments and makes workers in this industry, especially women, particularly vulnerable."

The people who send Nancy Pelosi and Danne Feinstein to Washington simply can't avoid self-revelation.
