President Trump on Wednesday expressed confidence that the coronavirus will not hit the U.S. with the same severity if it returns in the fall, suggesting that the disease that has killed tens of thousands of Americans "may not come back at all."
The comments came as part of a broader diatribe against a Washington Post headline that he felt unfairly characterized the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) warning that a second wave of the coronavirus could coincide with flu season.
But Trump's assertion that the virus would either be weekend or nonexistent in the fall breaks with medical experts who have cautioned that it will be present in American life for months or years to come.
"It may not come back at all," Trump told reporters during a White House briefing.

The first sentence is a gross misrepresentation of what trump said.
If I say that such and such may not happen, that is nothing like expressing confidence that it won’t happen.

Probably a very true comment. Not certain this virus is as bad as some are saying, such as Henzel and Grettle. Way too much politics involved.
That’s why you try not to give them something to root for. I can’t expect Trump to change. He has been this way for 40 years. Except what he said about his Atlantic City Hotels or building t hff e Wolman Skating rink are insignificant to what he says as POTUS. I don’t even mind this stuff at his rallies, but not a a briefing about a disease that has killed 45K and shut the country down.
