Marines who haven't taken their physical fitness test yet this season will be able to skip it, the service's top general announced Tuesday.
Commandant Gen. David Berger told Marines via tweet that the physical fitness test calendar period, which runs through June 30, is canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Our fitness to fight remains a priority, and I expect each of us to continue to maintain our fighting condition," Berger said. More details on how the change will affect Marines will be released in an upcoming force-wide message, he added.

There was an especially brutal PFT in 1983. The night before, me and some fellow Marines went to a Mexican restaurant in Oceanside, CA. We had plates of tacos and enchiladas with gallons of margaritas.
Let's just say that in the sit-up portion of the PFT, there was a lot of gas getting released.
The Generals are pussies now.
Sittin’ around, gettin’ fat and nasty, eatin’ Twinkies...
Congress needs to pass a law that no other countries can attack us our allies or interests until COVID passes.
*******
PFT isn’t going to matter for USMC readiness.
Most Marines train on their own. There are some that don’t, of course. But slackers will always be slackers. In their case, the PFT serves to assist in selecting s*** birds for when extra duty needs done. And usually, a unit doesn’t get word of a PFT coming at them until the day of so can’t exactly train up for it.
Most of those that don’t are REMFs and those types need that extra ass padding because not all chairs come with cushions.
That is pretty brutal. All be it maybe just a self defense mechanism. Adapt, improvise, and overcome takes on new meaning. :)
Ooooh, RAH!
Not liking this Commandant....
My last PFT was 47 years ago. The flu was especially bad that fall and a lot of us caught it but the PFT went on as scheduled. I was just coming off of three sick days and it was a real strain to do the push ups and pull ups. Made it through despite being sick. What the hell has happened to the Corps?
What the hell has happened to the Corps?
****
Social media filled with Karens.
BTW, best PFT run time was final one on Oki after being there a year and playing racquetball almost nightly...hated running but that time it was a breeze. Haven't wanted to run since I got out in '87.
When I got out I developed a strong aversion to polishing leather.
:)
The United States Military has to be at its lowest level of readiness since the Carter years. Even then it was at Cold War posture even though Vietnam exhausted America. I am very worried. The way things are,we could not fight any conflict without massive FUBAR results.
But somehow I still buy Brasso, right? And use it!
I still buy and use Barbasol.
And the smell of Pinesol gives me a facial twitch
My last PFT beat my bootcamp PFT run by 20 seconds.
Then apparently you were doing something wrong over those years! :)
And Dannys.
WTF? Pft's no big deal - 20 pullups + 1 for the corps, 120-130 situps cuz you never quit even though the max is 80 for points, and run 3 miles in 16:30 to 17 minutes when sober.
Commandants aren't what they used to be although Berger has to be better than a Hillary-loving Mattisfag.
