NEW YORKOver 2,200 members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) have recovered from COVID-19 and returned to their posts as of Sunday.
The largest police force in America has seen a total of 4,371 positive cases of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes the disease COVID-19. At some point, nearly 20 percent of the force was out sick, but that number has since dropped to 14 percent, according to a press release.
Its good news for the agency, but the silver lining surprised NYPD Sergeant Joseph Imperatrice.
Its incredible because you see all around the worldespecially in this citythese officers that have been seriously ill, some of them have gone to the hospital, some of them have lost love ones, said Imperatrice, whos also the founder of Blue Lives Matter NYC. And to have these officers back on the front line to do their jobs and to know that their healthy, thats the most important thing.
But dozens of New Yorks finest have fallen to the CCP virus.
Another two members of the NYPD died over the weekendtotaling 29 deaths since the first officer on March 27.
Traffic Section Commander Mohammed Chowdhury, who would have marked 30 years of NYPD service next week, succumbed to the virus, wrote Police Commissioner Dermot Shea on Twitter.
The prayers of a thankful city go out to his family & workers, he added. Traffic Enforcement Agent Jason Lewis also died from the virus that weekend.
Imperatrice said hes thinking of having a fundraiser for their families to cover funeral costs or anything else they might need.
Hopefully, going forward, when all this ends up stopping and becomes safe again, it would be great if Blue Lives Matter NYC had the opportunity of possibly throwing one big bash outside for all

Danny and Travis Magee will be along shortly to claim that the recovered officers now have AIDS and severe trauma to the lungs.
Their sources will be the always reliable Babylon Bee and Peak Prosperity
i’m beginning to almost feel guilty being that me and mine...a very big family and a bunch of friends have not been touched by this thing at all on Staten Island and Brooklyn.
Or maybe some of us got it and just didn’t get sick.
I was sick for about a day and a half. Upper respiratory thing. Thought it was gonna be bad then BANG!! it was gone just as soon as it came.
I’ll be honest. For all my tough here I was concerned that it was this thing. Not terrified but concerned.
Hydroxychloroquine?
I’m glad you’re OK. Stay careful please.
My old agency has seen hundreds of positives and 2 deaths. My old agencies handling of this has been less than stellar.
CC
Thats the same as the Chinese Virus right?
Are you kidding?
This virus is the LAST thing that’s gonna take me down.
Much tougher things in life have tried. Of course I was younger..
My nieces and nephews had bets that I wouldn’t see 50 (nice kids) and I’ll be 52 on May 13 so that say it’s all icing now.
I see it differently. All the dangerous times are gone and I want a nice peaceful 20 or 30 years coming to me.
That’s very kind that you said that.
Thank you and you and your family too.
Ill bet if tested you and a fair amount of your family/friends have had the virus without knowing it.
I never recalled having an upper respiratory infection where I had a dry cough. Phlegm just sitting there.
Usually it’s kind of wet...not saying this right but I’m sure you know what i mean :)
And it came so fast..a few days after shopping with a million people at shoprite
And it left faster than any cough or upper infection I ever had.
I’d lay 2 to 1 that I had it :)
I wouldnt bet against you. The Stanford study of Santa Clara County showed surprising numbers of people who had been exposed but were asymptomatic.
I and most of my family live in Florida, but we are all worried about relatives in New York, most of whom are tied to the City. So far, they are well, but their years make them vulnerable and inspire much worry.
When do the demands for PTSD and hazard pay and insurance coverage for life begin?
We should be starting to get the antibody tests at the hospital where I work in next 2 weeks. I asked about the test a month ago and admin looked at me as though I’d grown 2 heads. I asked a simple question- IF, as has been stated over and over, a large majority of those infected have no/mild symptoms...should we be trying to ID them as well???? Again- 2 heads...
We’ll see.
