Harvard Professor Wants A ‘Presumptive Ban‘ On Homeschooling, Claims It Promotes White Supremacy

In a shocking essay for Harvard Magazine, a professor of law and director of Harvard Law School’s child advocacy legal clinic, claims homeschooling is a threat to children’s rights, a method of promoting white supremacy, and a drain on democratic society — and even goes so far as to suggest a national “presumptive ban” on the practice.

Harvard is playing host to a “homeschooling summit,” slated to take place (at least digitally) June 18-19, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation. But Harvard’s concern isn’t so much whether homeschooling is a viable, cost-effective, and comfortable method of education for many Americans, but rather whether homeschooling is (and homeschooled children are) a ticking time bomb.

The summit brings together a number of “experts” from across the spectrum to discuss the “problems of educational deprivation and child maltreatment that too often occur under the guise of homeschooling, in a legal environment of minimal or no oversight.”

Prof. Elizabeth Bartholet is leading the charge against those who actively resist public schools and she believes that the generation currently being homeschooled is an eventual, if not active, breeding ground for racism, sexism, and isolationism.

Professor Bartholet is just another of a long line of anti-religious bigots who don't accept that people may have beliefs different from hers. She builds her anti-homeschooling and anti Christianity arguments on the usual false premises used by other bigots like her.

She laments that students exposed to views of science shaped by the Bible are somehow permanently disadvantaged in society. She fails however to identify how, or why a child whose views on certain topics may or may not turn out to be correct ultimately have any relevance to modern life, or why a child who attended a public school, but didn't learn any science at all is somehow better off. Apart from not having any evidence to support her conclusion she neglects to consider that most people have little to no knowledge of scientific topics and they still manage to succeed in life.

Professor Bartholet repeats the kinds of slurs usually associated with the worst racists and bigots entirely unaware of her own bias. In Professor Bartholet's mind home schooling parents are fundamentalist Christians who abuse their children, fail to teach them, and the only reason more evidence of their terrible behavior is not known is that their children haven't been inspected by the ever perfect public school teachers.

I wonder if she has ever thought about how vile her bias is?

Actual evidence establishes that Professor Bartholet's view of homeschooling parents, and the results of homeschooling are completely false. Professor Bartholet has adopted the thought patterns of the true bigot. She should be ashamed of herself.
