Illinois, in its desperate search for masks to protect its medical workers and first responders, laid out $17 million for KN95 masks from China. The state did so after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said earlier this month these types of masks were an acceptable alternative to the United States approved N95 masks.
They were wrong.
On Thursday, similar masks were recalled by multiple states — including Missouri, whose Department of Health and Senior Services director Sandy Kartsen said the masks did not meet their standards.

This is exactly what I expect from the State of Illinois government.
I friend of mine sent me a picture of the KN95 mask his employer issued. The instructions on proper use had a healthy dose of chinglish. Real comforting to see. I’m sure the mask is no better then a piece of cheese cloth.
Give each pensioner a mask as a ‘consolation prize’ instead of a retirement check this month.
Attach a label that reads: “Your state government at work on your behalf! Live long, but don’t prosper”
So I'm trying to read the manual for a device I bought. Manual says:
"Do not use strong acid liquid to wipe. Use the cloth stained with water to wipe."

China is evil. It is a racist nation that sees all non-Chinese as sub human. The Chinese are murdering us will shoddy and counterfeit product. The entire nation needs to be quarantined.
Actually Illnois needs bailing out for billions that have nothing to do with the virus.. just ask the Governor!

These states like Illinois and New Jersey are trying to get the feds to pay their state’s public pensions.
If a well-made KN 95 mask is acceptable, then the Chinese manufacturer is responsible. If no KN95 mask is acceptable then the US government agency who said that they are acceptable is responsible.
Let them go broke. Aren’t the people who order these masks supposed to know what they are getting? Let Illinois send their bills to China.
