Then the question is, why the shutdowns over this virus and not any of the others?
Well that is the question. I guess because President Trump decided to ;et the experts lead. Had he gone by his gut instincts I doubt he would have. Especially if the stockpile of PPE and ventilators had been kept up instead of allowing it to become almost completely depleted.
