Why coronavirus will not cost Trump reelection: Goodwin
New York Post ^ | April 18, 2020 | 10:28pm | By Michael Goodwin

Posted on 04/19/2020 11:24:37 AM PDT by Lazamataz

Last fall, as the House impeachment wave was building, I asked a gathering of 10 friends what they thought of President Trump’s prospects. Only six were Trump voters in 2016, but the group was unanimous on two points: The president would not be convicted by the Senate and would be re-elected in 2020.

Because the world has been turned upside down since then, I wanted an update from the same group. All successful New Yorkers, they are active in business, philanthropy and politically astute.

Like everyone else, they recoil at the deaths engulfing the nation and our city, and are horrified by the economic destruction being imposed in a bid to save lives. They worry about their own health, their families, friends and neighbors.

Although they hardly represent a scientific sampling, their views on the president, his handling of the epidemic and the fall election are not markedly different from public polls. In general, the group’s opinion of Trump’s leadership is good news for the president.

He’s picked up at least one new voter — a woman who says Trump has been a much better president than she expected. So far, he hasn’t lost any supporters, though one unhappy backer says he is open to voting for Joe Biden, depending on Biden’s choice of a running mate.

While I agree with Mr. Goodwin, the only problem I see potentially lurking is massive voter fraud if in-person elections are not held. A 2020 Presidential mail-in election would be a fraudster's wet dream.

Yep, I told my husband almost exactly that about 10 days into this crap. It took him awhile but he’s seeing the light.

It has never been about controlling the virus.

It has been about Democrats controlling, YOU!

The other problematic issue is swing states like FL where RAT governors gave blanket amnesty for convicted felons to vote, adding oddles of new hardcore RAT voters to the voter rolls. I gurantee you that 80%+ of those felons added to the FL voter rolls will be pulling the level for Biden (assuming they vote).

Been seeing a lot of Twitter memes about mail voting. Such as, “Donald Trump mailed in his ballot in the last election, but he doesn’t want you to be able to do so.” Etc.

The left is pushing it hot and heavy. I hope there is some way to prevent this.

But mainly because his opponent is a dithering vegetable and Trump has plenty of dirt on the guy who would likely to replace him.

I’ve become the family designated expendable shopper/street corner ranter.

From the get-go, I have loudly protested the reality of all of this.

Hubby is slowly getting it but my terrified mom still thinks I may be crazy.

Yesterday, Gov Bulk Hogan FORCED us all to wear masks if we want to shop.

And our “curve” is flattened, the projections are WAY down from the initial ones and there’s just no there there now.

But it’s either put on the damn mask or starve.

I. Am. Livid.

The *only* upside is suddenly Michaels is “open” for curb pickup locally, whereas they were totally closed, period.

The Michaels in WV, you can just walk on in like a free citizen but it’s 25 miles away.

Had enough of this charade.

From forced masks to arrows on the floor to in/out only doors, I’ve been pushing the limits and not obeying.

I’ve been moving around my world pretty much the same as I did, back in The Before Time, living as normally as I can.

Yet I watch all the sheep, masked, gloved and compulsively washing, wiping and spraying and I feel like I’m in someone else’s waking nightmare.

I want to grab them and shake them to wake them up.
I want to stand in the store and scream “What is wrong with your brains???”

Once in a while, I see another like myself and we exchange “The Look”. shake our heads in sad agreement and go on about our shopping, while all around us, the crowds of newly created stagecoach robber fashionistas carefully toe those infernal prescribed lines.

They couldn’t make a Twilight Zone episode more freakish than this.

In Maryland, the counties in western MD and on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake have few cases and mostly zero deaths. Hogan hates President Trump but I don’t see how being a tyrant to those counties is either sticking it to Trump or helping Maryland at all.

By the way, most of those counties voted for Trump though their votes are dwarfed by the Baltimore to DC corridor Dem populations.

I am out in the relatively untouched areas and personally, I think because this is the FIRST time Bulk Hogan has actually had ANY power of his own, he has gone mad with it.

He even gives pressers wearing some kind of police-looking uniform with some sort of badge on it.

It’s madness.

FWIW, the hillbillies just go over to WV and shop, for the most part.

I’ll give myself a heart attack if I do that.

The level of barely suppressed rage is starting to become uncontainable.

We have blacked-out gov. tagged MRAPs slithering around in the shopping center parking lots now.

WTF??

The amount of voter fraud the Democrat Party is going to commit come November will be unlike anything they have ever done in the past. Conservatives need to be putting this out there, loud and long so it won’t come as a surprise.

The problem is that Trump’s strategies mirror Sun Tzu while theirs is pure Machiavelli.

Personally, I think Donald Trump’s trashing of the mindless media is long overdue.

The fourth estate has been trashing non-leftist presidents unmercifully ever since Richard Nixon.

Now, they have someone who dares to challenge their tactics, and suddenly they’re outraged.

Go get ‘em, Mr. President !
