Census 2020 Impact in Your Community

Impact in Your Community

School lunches. Plans for highways. Support for firefighters and families in need. Census results affect your community every day.

Shaping Your Future

The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community, no matter the size, no matter the location.

Think of your morning commute: Census results influence highway planning and construction, as well as grants for buses, subways, and other public transit systems.

Or think of your local schools: Census results help determine how money is allocated for the Head Start program and for grants that support teachers and special education.

The list goes on, including programs to support rural areas, to restore wildlife, to prevent child abuse, to prepare for wildfires, and to provide housing assistance for older adults.

TOPICS: Government
KEYWORDS: census
This government site echoes the ads I hear every morning on the radio. The message is: The Census is about free stuff. For the first time I don't feel like even telling them how many people live in my house.

The radio ads also make the point that one's anonymity in the responses made is "protected by law." I wonder if it's protected the same way that Social Security Numbers were not to be used for identification purposes.

The Census is actually about securing marketing data which the government then sells to businesses. The media never covers that.

I agree 100%.
At least we are allowed to live wherever we want.
Swedes get to live in apartments that match their need.
No children = 1 bedroom
One child = 2 bedrooms
Two children = 3 bedrooms if they are boy and girl.
And so on.

They DO pay 65% of their salary to the government and they EXPECT the "nanny" government. So they have it.

Things were hunky-dory UNTIL they invited Somalis to live there. Then, what DO you know? Rapes JUMPED in numbers. Unemployment JUMPED in numbers.
THAT will teach them to bring in people with SUCH different ways of life.

We did the online census. But they kept bouncing us to do it again. Finally they started sending regular printed C forms. We called and they said to just send them In too to stop the harassment. We did but added a note saying it’s a duplicate report submitted at their instruction so don’t count us twice! What a farce we are forced to pay for this krap while the govt is impoverishing millions of Americans by throwing them out of work

Tell that to Japanese Americans of 1940 or blacks diagnosed as "feeble minded" by census takers in 1890.

It’s also about electoral votes and congressional seats. So, those in red states need to be counted! If you’re in a blue state, there is a case for not being counted.

I have never been sent a census form, ever.

I take that back, I think I got one 30-40 years ago. I didn’t send it back.

The census is nothing more than the itemization of America to steal from the treasury and solidify political power. It was useful and an honest endeavor in 1790. In 2020 it is a manipulation of the sh*tpot of multicultural demographic garbage in the country.

Same here. Have not been counted in Census in my adult life. And I am almost 60.

Huh, we're the opposite. I refuse to do the online one, as I'm sure it limits your answers to certain ones for many questions (multiple choice, with no may to fill in your own answer). I've gotten two letters, both saying I can do the online one, or they'll send an actual print form if I don't. Still haven't received the print census.

The print one may be preferable for anyone doing it. Lots of people aren’t. The virus lockdown is making people angry as hell. A lot less compliant than before
