Presuming we have fair and free elections. The elimination photo ID in VA does not bode well nor does the Obama/Pelosi support of all mail-in election nationally. Voter fraud is going to be a major concern in 2020, given the Dems palpable desperation to remove Trump from office. They have spied on him, investigated him, and impeached him.
Yeah the guy who just signed into law the elimination of photo ID for elections. As someone who has served as both a poll watcher and election officer in VA, I am furious at this turn of events.
Trump will pardon Stone, Flynn, Papadopoulos, and Manafort. Assange, maybe not. Timing will be the issue, probably aftrr the election. Flynn might be different given all that has recently come out.
Or carry your cell phone in a Faraday bag. They cost about $12 and can also be used for your credit cards which are suceptible to someone scanning them nearby.
I keep some radios in a Faraday box in case of an EMP attack. (Color me paranoid).

Nothing has changed. As pointed out in your excellent post, a meaningful investigation is problematic in a regime like China's. Yet until the world knows how the SARS-CoV-2 virus became a global threat, we are incapable of making a serious attempt to prevent similar future disasters.
As you noted, the outbreak was either deliberate or due to incompetence. IMO, the civilized world must demand a full and open international investigation supported by China. Xi Jinping will surely not agree, but it might be a good first step toward capitalizing on the global situation to further weaken his standing in China where Hong Kong is now a factor in this regard.
