Hydroxychloroquine, which is usually used to treat malaria, has been championed by President Trump for the treatment of COVID-19. But doctors say it's too early to be sure, and small studies have had mixed results.
Dr. Wesley Self at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is leading a clinical trial to see if it really works. "Hydroxychloroquine may help prevent the virus from entering cells in the body and therefore prevent it from replicating more or growing within the body," Self explained.
Tisha Holt, 42, is one of the first people who enrolled. She's been in the Vanderbilt ICU for four days.
She told Self that she feels "weak," and that she has a lot of chest tightness and is "very sick."
"I want it to work," Self said. "I see that it has promise but I also understand most promising drugs that are at this stage of research do not ultimately work."
The drug may raise the risk of an irregular heartbeat, but it has generally been a safe medication. Doctors and patients like Holt don't know who is receiving the drug and who is getting a placebo — the gold standard in research.
"If I can do something to help then I want to do it," Holt said, "and makes me feel better to help someone else."

Yes, we all are. NY State has been doing this “tests” since third week of March, 2020.
I’m still waiting for their report.
Maybe they are adopting the saying that “no news is good news.” On second thought, nah. They will keep us in the dark about anything that may prove our beloved President to be true
Why are there trials without the three medications? I hate stupid doctors and scientists.

Yet Turkey reported it reduced pneumonia cases.
Italy is giving it to everyone.
There is a world wide shortage of HCl.
So it’s obviously working.
Plenty of real world use of the three way cocktail with good results. Big Med wants big studies that pays big money. Meanwhile, a dozen doctors have just prescribed it on their own with excellent results if used early.

Any good doctor worth his salt would actually be talking to doctors who have SUCCESSFULLY used it and try replicating the successful protocol instead of experimenting on his own.
I am not sure how many doctors who use HCQ ever even bothered to contact Dr. Vladimir Zelenko to exchange notes with him.
I thought NY was going to be testing 1100 coronavirus patients. Why is no one talking about this in press briefings?

no ... all of these trials and tests are designed to produce “results” in months ... by the time they come out, the results will be moot and thousands will have needlessly died ... furthermore, it’s completely unethical (and unnecessary) to have placebo-controlled arms with a treatment known to work ... the control arm can easily be taken from clinical cases in which the drug wasn’t given for a variety of other reasons besides being deliberately withheld ...

as you know, i’ve been deep diving into these “studies” and as far as i can tell, they’re designed to not have results until at least july or even later ... in my opinion, “scientists” are killing people on purpose to further their own academic bullshit and possibly even to also to try to prove orange man bad ...

You got me there. Sean Hannity reported on the trials as early as third week of March, 2020.
It’s already 3rd week of April and I’m still waiting for the reports.
In the meantime NY Hospitals in Long Island ( where I live ) are already administering HCQ to their patients, not waiting for the State’s studies to come out. See here:

I suspect NY State designed its tests to NOT have results until at least mid June or even later. You know, a slow, randomized double blind study — what Dr. Fauci wants.
Fake News. No mention of zinc.
Because with three variables, you can't isolate which is the active agent. This is simple separation of variables and "good science". Nothing "stupid" about it. Necessary to generate usable data.
I’ve read articles that justify all 3 components. Supposedly the HCQ alone can work if the patient has enough zinc already. I also read that the zPack may work with the HCQ in some unknown way.
I also want to know if the combo or HCQ+zinc is a preventative.
The three should be considered as one. Not good science at all. Even off the shelve, cold medicines have a variety of medications that work in conjunction together.
Hydroxychloroquine regulates the activity of the immune system, which may be overactive, thus allowing the Z-Pak and vitamins to work more effectively.
It’s like testing aspirin to see if it will stop a runny nose. If they wanted to test Hydroxychloroquine effectiveness they should test the Z-Pak / Vitamin combo with and without it. But still have all three in connection as part of the test.
I believe we should start to receive real feedback on these studies, either next week, or in a week.
