Bill de Blasio says NYC will not BEGIN to open until July or August

Right now I’ve accounted for, and I’m very sorry to say this, $7.5 billion in lost revenue that we now know is going to hit this city,” de Blasio said. “We are one of the capitals of this country in terms of economic power and economic impact, and you know all that we do to help the American economy be strong, but we are not going to be able provide basic services in this city because we’ve got nowhere else to turn to get that kind of money.”

The Mayor fell short of criticizing President Trump or Vice President Pence directly, but did take shots at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill. He claimed that if he can’t get a bailout the way airlines are, that his city will not be able to recover properly.

Finger-pointing continues among politicians, but has become less prominent among the bigger players. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and de Blasio have both tempered their attacks as the state and city continue to be the hardest hit by the coronavirus. They have closed many public services for the rest of the summer, including pools.

So he’s CLAIMING that Covid-19 is responsible for $7.5 billion in lost revenue and he wants to increase it by having a linger shutdown. NO FEDERAL FUNDS TO STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. THEY can control how much THEY lose.

That will be the final nail in the coffin. You close a 30 million person city over 10,000 questionable deaths?

While everyone else opens back up. I guess NYC will find out how unimportant they really are to the rest of the country. We can function without you and your arrogant socialist mayor.

Honestly, NYC can stay closed. Just open upstate New York as the data and science indicate it’s closer to VT, which is ready to open.

The dope from park slop lives up to his name. He wants federal bail out money, Trump checkmated his A hole buddy Cuomo into admitting what trump knew from the get go. The governor is responsible for the opening, no longer trumps fault! These two dolts are now between a rock and a hard place.

Is the upstate/western NY target set yet. I thought I heard possibly May 15 but I am not sure if that was real.

Herr Wilhelm will be corrected by Cuomo yet again, likely before noon.

Human behavior is at the core of economic activity. As things stand right now, many if not most people will not willingly congregate even if “the economy” is deemed open. How many people will go shopping, eat at restaurants, go to conferences, fly , cruise or even work closely with others? Simply put until there is a safe reliable vaccine and a serology test confirming that a person has immunity to COVID-19, it will be a very long time before things return to “normal”. And yes the Democrats will try to use this crisis to achieve their vile goals. The coming political battles will be as crucial as the battle against COVID-19 if the American nation is to survive.

What is the subway status in NYC?

Have they closed it or kept it open with cosmetic precautions?

All of New York has been extended two weeks, which is a month from now, May 15th MAYBE.

The problem with Cuomo is that he is NOT using science and data when it comes to upstate, which is ready to open now.

Yep, Cuomo is likely to extend the closure to September.

It’s going to be a long, hot summer.

Ordinary NYC citizens will not put up with being cooped up past Memorial Day.

Should make for some exciting YouTube videos.

Any other time, NYC mocks the rest of us - especially in “fly over” country. Now they want our help? No way.
