Earth had its second-warmest March ever recorded

Earth is off to a hot start in 2020.

On the heels of the warmest January in recorded history and the second-warmest February, the planet has now logged its second-hottest March on record, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Thursday.

It’s just the latest milestone in what NOAA says is a clear, long-term warming trend. And though there are nine months left in the year, the agency’s models are already suggesting that there’s a good chance that 2020 could end up as the warmest year since record-keeping began in 1880.

“It does look like there’s a better-than-half probability that we will finish the year warmest on record,” Deke Arndt, chief of the monitoring branch at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information, said Thursday in a news briefing about the agency’s latest monthly climate report.

The recent temperature records show that even amid natural variations, the planet is continuing to warm at an accelerated pace.

The warm temperatures shrank Arctic sea ice to its 11th-lowest extent, covering 251,000 square miles.

“Arctic sea ice tends to expand to its largest footprint over the month of March,” Arndt said. “This year, it was small.”

“Long-term warming is a lot like riding on an escalator — the longer you stay on the escalator, the higher you go,” he said. “El Niño is like standing tall and crouching down as you’re riding up that escalator. While we’re not at the stand-as-tall-as-you-can El Niño stage, we’re not exactly crouching down either.”

Temperature readings are easily manipulated. Many scientists are perfectly fine with tweaking numbers to benefit their agenda.

I just saw a report that a two-state region where I live has had one of the coldest Aprils on record...

You know that's impossible. Unless you believe that CO2 magically reduced itself by 50% this month, then temperatures had to be above normal. Follow the science.

snow in Missouri, it hasn’t hit 50 degrees for over a week. Global warming is obvious.

“They’ve already claimed less pollution.”

Actually, that is a fact. Every year when China shuts down for 2 weeks during New Year the pollution coming from there is significantly less. This is primarily due to about a 40% reduction in the burning of coal to make electricity for industries. This year the shutdown was significantly longer and therefore less coal burned for an extended period. Not to mention the amount of smog cut down due to automobile exhaust.

In addition the lagoon around Venice is remarkably cleaner and clearer because their tourist based economy has come to a stop.

There is a direct link between the industrial revolution and pollution to the immediate surrounding environment.
That is where the term London Fog came from. Coal soot mixed with rain.

Most of us remember when the river in Cleveland actually caught on fire because of the flammable liquids being dumped into it. Back in the 1970’s the fact that there were very few fish in Lake Erie. Also, that the trout/steelhead in Lake Ontario had high levels of Mercury. These were all a direct result of the industrial by products being dumped into the water ways. There was also this neighborhood in Niagara Falls, NY where they buried a bunch of chemical drums in a land fill. They built a school and subdivision over that land fill. There was a 50% cancer rate in the subdivision a few years later. It was called Love Canal.

Now IF we could ONLY keep that pesky Krakatoa volcano over there in Indonesia from erupting, the air would be a lot cleaner.

Don’t care what Leftists think about the weather. I may as well ask a little dog what he thinks.

Just how you determine the earth’s temperature? Obviously there will be seasonal and regional variations...deserts hot...polar regions cold. What temperatures are included or excluded? Just what is the “normal” temperature of the planet? If March is the warmest on record compared to what? How far back do records go? This is meaningless BS.

This is not "science", it's crisis-envy between the global warming/Chinese Flu factions.

The Democrat/Left doesn't love "science", they love the idea of science ... promoting the data if and only it supports their political objectives ... otherwise, the data is ignored. Happens every time!
