The first outbreak of the coronavirus could have happened further south than the central Chinese city of Wuhan as early as September, according to a team of scientists led by the University of Cambridge.
Researchers investigating the virus origin analysed a large number of strains from around the world and calculated that the initial outbreak occurred in a window between September 13 and December 7.
The virus may have mutated into its final human-efficient form months ago, but stayed inside a bat or other animal or even human for several months without infecting other individuals, University of Cambridge geneticist Peter Forster said on Thursday.
Then, it started infecting and spreading among humans between September 13 and December 7, generating the network we present in [the journal] Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences [PNAS].
They were still trying to pinpoint the location of patient zero, and were hoping for help from scientists in China, but some early signs were prompting them to look into areas to the south of Wuhan, where coronavirus infections were first reported in December.
What we reconstruct in the network is the first significant spread among humans, Forster said.
This work may provide some important clues to future investigations, but the conclusions should be treated with caution.
The Cambridge study also raised some new questions. The first strain isolated and reported by Chinese scientists was actually younger than the original type that caused the outbreak. Why the US had more strains genetically closer to a bat virus than Wuhan has prompted heated debates in the research community.
One explanation, according to Forster, was that the original strain may have first emerged in China but was more adaptive to the American population and environment.

AMEN. I believe my daughter had it in San Francisco area in November. There were 3,000 per day in Sept, Oct, and Nov coming into CA (from what I have heard reported).
In December a family in a small church in ME (probably a second family as well - but they have not yet been tested) had the virus and is now immune. Both families were sick between Christmas and New Years - with the symptoms described with CV.
How did a significant percentage of people in areas of CA become immune?
It started earlier.
Keep up the good work
I know several people, friends and relatives, here in central PA that probably had it in late December - early January. One was actually tested for the flu, which came back negative. Also, many at work were out sick with flu-like symptoms at work in January. I don’t know if any of those were tested for the flu. Now the goofy governor is mandating mask wearing in grocery stores and pharmacies. IMO this is a farce, the horse is long out of the barn, most have probably already had it or have been exposed to it.
This fits the bioweapon model heard on the No Agenda podcast. China engineers two strains of Corona; type-L and type-A. Type-L is generally lethal. Type-A is milder and provides immunity for Type-L. In deployment, you drop type-L on your enemy and immunized your own people with type-A.
Thru accident the type-L train escapes the Wuhan bioweapons lab creating hot spots in cities like NYC. Type-A is then spread in a desperate attempt to coverup the original accident by immunizing people against the more lethal strain.
I believe I had it in November as well. We are being lied to
I heard that the incoming from China to California was an average of 8,000 a day.
He is right and wrong at the same time. He is only looking at raw data of the genomes. We know Dr. Shi Zhengli got samples from the South in the bat caves. And that is what she was working on. And that is what was being worked on at NCU before funding got cut off and Zhengli took her research back to Wuhan. So it makes sense that he is saying it did not originate in Wuhan. The key word is originate.
If the shell was from the south of China then naturally, as Peter is finding, the origination is in the South not in Wuhan. But that does not mean the samples in the Wuhan Virology lab were not samples from the south. So both things can be true.
What's more interesting is that he has found that there are 3 strains, A, B, and C
Here on Long Island something was going thru the elementary school around Feb. The teachers were saying they’d never seen so many kids out. Our son had a fever that was spiking all over the place, going up and down but the kid was otherwise fine. Perky and alert. The rule is something like 24 hrs without fever before he can go to school. It was weird how not sick he seemed except warm to the touch and the way the fevery kept coming and going.
The author of the article citing Peter Forster at Cambridge is writing from Beijing. This is the CCP attempting to throw us off the trail to Wuhan lab. He could not have published without consent from the CCP. But as my previous post states, both things can be true. Origination from South China AND Wuhan lab, as the lab had the samples from Dr. Shi Zhengli who indeed got them from bats in the south of China.
Check source.
It may have originated earlier but the reason the Mandarins are pushing this is because it supports the phony narrative
that it jumped from a bat to a human without being worked on in a Commie biowarfare lab first.
The problem with sending kids back if no fever is that most influenza can still ne contagious 3 to 5 days after fever disappears and longer in children. And if by chance is was covid (a strain of covid19), much longer. Not really being diagnosed until it hit older communities with weakened immune systems.
I agree. Problem is CCP are not the only ones pushing “natural mutation”.
The testing of 7000 flu swabs in Washington state shows no coronavirus before February 21, only 10 cases later that month.
Thank you for that info - I will keep searching. We did have a family in the church I pastor here in Maine. Son came down with CV in the Army Reserves recently. They have been quarantined at home as a family. Because of health issues the mom only was tested. They told her she is immune, she has already had CV, and the whole family was sick for about a week at Christmas time (son in AR was not home) with the CV symptoms. They figure that is the only time they could have had it.
I understand that there are 3 different strands of the CV-19 and there have been individuals who have gotten it ‘again.’
Were the 8K/day staying in CA or transferring planes and traveling to other states?
How much commie cash is the university of Cambridge sucking up from the red Chinese?
