I guess the smartest people in the world don’t know how to manage a firewall.
This might be done, at least in some cases, with not that much ill-will.
The best academics begin by borrowing/stealing the best work that other people have done and are doing and then build on it.
If other countries are grappling with trying to find solutions, it would seem more efficient to use one’s own limited medical resouusrces to augment U.S. research than to re-invent the wheel.
As well, with lthe formal forced confinement of oads of millennials who can’t contribute to the medical research but who can do all sorts of computer things from their parent’s basement, it brobably helps to reduce the chances of the game sites and porn sites crashing by giving some of them something productive to do.
Some of the smartest people in the world view the more technical parts of technology as a useful tool that they would rather leave to the management of experts, sort of like a jack-hammer.
My Brother-in-Law is head of the tech department for a decent size hospital. He knows stuff like this so the doctor’s can focus on the best way to chop up organs etc. He does his stuff, they do theirs.
Well then it’s okay :-) hack the **** away and even go into our defense department. There might be something useful there.
Yes I work in IT so I know how it works.
I was taking a sarcastic shot at the “experts”. Fauci, Birx, Bozo the Modeler, etc.
Why is the research even protected? It should be open to the world.
Nations have allies, they do not have friends.
I would expect that our allies would not hack the defence department, or at least be more cautious about doing so, but accessing the CDC is not big deal.
As for the Chinese, what do you expect? I’d expect that we are doing the same thing to them—we remain on cold-war footing with them and the Norks.
On some level, I’d expect the same relationship with the Russians, though more out of habit than being on actual cold-war footing at the present.
Having some decent quasi-enemies will keep you on your toes better than people who are assigned to play the Russians in a Nipo-Russian war and aren’t necessarily so motivated to put their full hearts into it.
Track them down, find them and KILL THEM.
It should be open to the world.

The new world order.
accessing the CDC is not big deal.
Wow. Oblivious.
Just another unfortunate event, wink wink, so any future opposition to the false Covid death toll numbers can be quietly dismissed.
China or North Korea, bets?
The new world order.
Not really, I hope we are not that stupid. I think anything that could benefit and save tens of thousands of lives would not be held back because of greed and imaginary tribalism.
And when it comes to virus research, there are plenty of brilliant scientists outside of the US that might contribute to a cure.
Its not hacking when youre invited.
Yep, just China trying to assess how well their new weapon is performing.
Inside job, you can bet that.
“She didn’t specify what countries backed the hackers or what organizations were targeted.” What good is the FBI if it can’t tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
The FBI is not on our side.
