Sources believe coronavirus originated in Wuhan lab as part of China's efforts to compete with US

EXCLUSIVE: COVID-19 originated in a Wuhan laboratory not as a bioweapon, but as part of China's effort to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States, multiple sources who have been briefed on the details of early actions by China's government and seen relevant materials tell Fox News.

This may be the "costliest government coverup of all time," one of the sources said.

The sources believe the initial transmission of the virus was bat-to-human, and that "patient zero" worked at the laboratory, then went into the population in Wuhan. Asked by Fox News' John Roberts about the reporting, President Trump remarked at Wednesday's coronavirus press briefing, "More and more we're hearing the story...we are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation."

Documents detail early efforts by doctors at the lab and early efforts at containment. The Wuhan wet market initially identified as a possible point of origin never sold bats, and the sources tell Fox News that blaming the wet market was an effort by China to deflect blame from the laboratory, along with the country's propaganda efforts targeting the U.S. and Italy.

U.S. Embassy officials warned in January 2018 about inadequate safety at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab and passed on information about scientists conducting risky research on coronavirus from bats, The Washington Post reported Tuesday...…

Additionally, the sources tell Fox News the World Health Organization (WHO) was complicit from the beginning in helping China cover its tracks.

Unfortunately I think you maybe right that it is an act of war. It also looks to me like the chicoms are saber rattling. This is a long way from being over. The worst is probably ahead of us.

Because of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama trade policies with China, the US was essentially pay a tax of half a Trillion per year directly to the Chinese Communist government.

This funded their military, each year, and every year.

And we paid for it.

Moreover, whatever China says they are spending on their military is a lie. Their actual spending is a state secret (unlike the US military budget). Even then, the dollar for dollar comparison is useless.

When the US military buys a pair of boots, they may cost around $200 per pair. This includes safety, environmental, legal, and 8-A (minority owned business contract subs), and other costs.

The Chinese have none of that. They can produce an equally effective pair of boots for $15.

Much of our military spending is on research and development. The Chinese have found it much cheaper and effective to simply steal our technology, and they do. In spades.

A shooting war with China would be very messy. Their military is substantial.

Also, it isn’t a stretch of the imagination to believe that there are some in our own government/country who could and would collaborate with the Chinese to destroy Trump, and take over America.

During the Gulf War, I had only been retired for about two years. I was sweating getting called back to active duty. Fortunately, they didn’t call me back. They did call back a bunch of guys, who had gotten out after 4 years, as long as they were inside that two year window.

Wow, thank you very much for the detailed info. If true - that China blocked internal travel from wuhan to other parts of China, but allowed it to continue out from Wuhan to other parts of the world, while knowing there was a contagion breaking loose - there should be hell to pay. I could see this accidentally happening for a very short period, considering all the various airlines involved, but if it happened for more than a full day there is simply no excuse.

Not a deep thinker myself, but I see this scenario.

China didn’t want this. Once the bat was out of the bag, they knew it would severely hurt their economy. They intentionally allowed it to propagate so they would just be one of many countries having to deal with a global problem. If it was going to hurt them economically, it HAD to also damage the US and the EU in order to share the pain.

Once it was sufficiently spread, they cracked down locally. There was definitely a CCP blitz to pin the source on anyone but them, but nobody is buying that, except 99% of Chinese citizens.

Meanwhile, they knew they could depend on our Democrats to turn it into a shit show here in the US, and do everything they could to make it Trump’s fault. The Democrats are, in essence, acting as a willing arm of the CCP.

We’ve been in a financial war with China for a long time. They are trying to cripple us financially, and have a good bit of muscle due to a lack of POTUS muscle. Then steps in President Trump, and they think they can flex their muscles on him.

I’ve believed all along that China set this loose on the world willingly, only to force the world to buy more of their stuff.

In the end, it’s going to be a major mistake by them. If this doesn’t create a major boost in American manufacturing and exportation, nothing will.

Your timeline of events to say this was impossible to have originated in a lab claiming the scientist didnt have access to bats until December of 2019? She had been doing research on bat viruses for years and years. As well, it is proven to be spliced together from several viruses including the one that causes hiv.

I believe that the evidence, some of it spelled out in this article, strongly suggests that this virus was concocted in a Wuhan bio-weapons lab. That does NOT say that “sources” said they were. If Fox were to name its sources I might believe their claim. Otherwise I have to assume Fox is lying.

Thank you. Shi Zhengli, found the the bat virus from bats in a Shitou Cave (appropriately named) and took their mysterious samples to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in December, 2020. It was a variation of the SARS virus. What they did with that virus at the Wuhan Institute was revealed with the Epoch Times video.

I didn’t know the extent that Shi Zhengli was studying bats. It makes sense because bats are an important animal for scientific study. Cancer research, longevity research, viruses and their mutations can be found in bats that have the ability to carry multiple viruses without getting sick.

One think for sure, the world has one very dangerous bat. That is the Communist Party of China.
