Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle are voicing their displeasure at the idea of returning to Capitol Hill next week, when lawmakers are scheduled to come back following a nearly monthlong coronavirus-caused recess.

“I have no interest in going back now. How do you get there? Train? Plane?” House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey told C-SPAN Monday of returning to Congress on April 20.

Lowey (D-NY) told the network that she “certainly” did not expect the House of Representatives to return next Monday, saying, “I don’t think it’s possible.”

LOL - Congresscritters in close confines. What could possibly go wrong?

I expect significant absenteeism with excuses out the wazoo.

This works for the rest of us...they’ll not be able to create as many problems the longer they stay away.

Democrat Party politicians, every one of them are the scum and vermin of the entire universe. My God what has America come to!!! America and its people will pay a high price for allowing this human waste called the Democrat Party to exist. I am glad I am an “over-the-hill” dude that will not be around when the Democrat Party destroys the freedom and liberty of the USA!!! Go figure!!!

Ahhh...so they escaped and are using the excuse that they can’t come back due to the dangers of contracting the virus? How convenient.

I say give them a pay cut and cut off their perks.

They don't care about complaining citizens.

Their favored constituents are government employees and those on government assistance.
Guess whose paychecks are still coming in uninterrupted . . . .
Government employees
Medicaid
Food assistance
Housing assistance

If you aren't a ward of the state or a government employee, no inconvenience is too much to ask. No cost is too high to bear.

If you want this to stop, have them stop paying THEIR employees and pilot fish humans.

I think they should take a 50% cut in pay, oh, and I’d like 50% of my school taxes back now that K-12 is closed.

What they need is a time clock that they must clock into and their pay based on actual time worked.

Non-essential people, they are.

We’ve enough laws on the books.

Congress distracted POTUS from learning about CDC & preparedness.

Governors are controlling everything now.

Anything important and urgent, do one-time web conference and web vote on it.

Stay home until May, work May - October, six-months a year, avoid flu seasons.

If Pierre Salinger wanted to ghostwrite Profiles in Courage today he’d just turn-in a blank manuscript.

They can get their $1200 in Trump money, and take some Trump pills, it will all be OK.

Which is why they are always talking about how they are going to focus like a laser beam on helping “The Workers”. /sarc

Gee, Nita, how did you get wherever you are now? Maybe you could just reverse that process to get back to your job?
