On Monday morning I had a delivery to my apartment from the nearby off-licence - or liquor store, as they say over here.
And I put a jokey picture on Twitter of a bottle of gin and eight bottles of tonic, with the caption that at least I had the next week sorted.
After leaving the White House Briefing Room on Monday evening following a marathon two-hour 24-minute press conference, I felt I could have knocked off the whole lot in one sitting.
This has been the most dizzying, jaw-dropping, eyeball-popping, head-spinning news conference I have ever attended. And I was at Bill Clinton's news conference in 1998 when he faced the press for the first time over his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
I was at this president's first White House gathering when he called me "another beauty". I was in Helsinki when he had his first news conference with Vladimir Putin, and seemed to prefer to believe the Russian leader over his own security and intelligence chiefs on interference in the 2016 election.
What made last night's encounter unique was the context. And secondly, this was, if you like, a distillation - all the talk of gin, I think, forced me to use that word - in one news conference of what three and a half years of Donald Trump has been like to cover.
Donald Trump walked into the briefing room with scores to settle with the media. This wasn't about the dead, the desperately sick, the people fearful of catching the virus. This was about him. And more particularly his profound sense of grievance that the media has been critical of his handling of Covid-19.

I watched yesterday’s briefing and was shocked at the level of disrespect shown this President. It doesn’t matter if it’s Trump, or Dear Leader Obama, the President deserves a certain amount of respect. I don’t know when a Dim will next inhabit the White House, but I can guarantee you the media will go back to wine and roses.
Had a good friend on the phone talking about generalities and she mentioned buying the last two bottles of tonic water she found at Safeway. Oh I responded did they contain quinine? She had to read the contents to find out, but indeed they did. She had seen an article on the subject.
I on the other hand hadn’t even thought about it until she brought it up. So, I said I’m going to stop at the Safeway on the other side of town to check their supply. Shelves completely bare. That was last week and I have since checked other stores, same story. Bare shelves.

Jon has. Illustrated ‘projection’ quite well. That press conference was about the twisted minds of truth twisting media constantly spewing lies. I’m 74, that was the best news conference evah! Sobel’ soul is so dead he could not comprehend how completely his globalist sycophency was exposed.
My favorite part was when he finally shut her up by saying “Enough!” — just like a mom would silence a whiney four year-old brat.
That woman would not shut up. Obama would have had her ejected.

This article is such b.s. The President had to give this press conference because of people like the NY Times saying the president knew about this before hand and did nothing. In other words the press were undercutting the efforts of the Whitehouse.
Do you know if he's taking hydroxyquinine? The guy loves to talk about hiself, you'd think he'd tell us every detail of his "journey."
