AUSTIN, Texas (KVII) — Easter Sunday marked a renewing of the State of Texas' action toward the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Governor Greg Abbott extended the disaster declaration for all Texas counties, which was originally declared on March 13.

Abbot said the extension is necessary to help stop the proliferation of the virus within the state.

"I urge all Texans to continue practicing social distancing and abide by the guidelines laid out by the CDC and my Executive Orders to slow the spread of COVID-19," the governor said in a statement.

The same day, the governor's office said they will announce a new "small business initiative" the following Monday.

While this announcement did not specify what exactly the initiative would include, the governor spent some time at a press conference on Friday talking about the plan to reopen some Texas businesses.

Texas got corona virus later, and is predicted to have a lower and longer curve.
States like Washington and New York got it first and had a sharper peak sooner.

Exactly.

I know all the models have been wrong.

But it’s pretty clear that Texas still remains to be hit harder.

And because of this - we must stay cautious and vigilant.

Give me a break! How long are you going to keep drinking the kool aid! How long do you think this State can survive ‘hiding out’ to ‘flatten the mythological curve’

WTF is wrong with you people?

You can deny the news reports all you want. They’re lying right?

See post 12.

All I have done here is tell you people what is going on. You don’t like it?

Stomp your foot. Stick your fingers in your ear. And “LA LA LA LA LA LA...”

If that is what makes you feel better.
