The U.S. was given inaccurate information about the coronavirus at the beginning of the crisis Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Saturday.
When Fox News host Jesse Watters asked Fauci if he believes China or the World Health Organization "misled" him or if the WHO leader himself could have been "deceived," Fauci noted that while he does not know the details behind the inaccurate information, it was disseminated from the start of the crisis.
"You know I don't know where the missteps went, the only thing I know what the end result was, that early on we did not get correct information," Fauci said. "And the incorrect information was propagated right from the beginning because you know when the first cases came out, that were identified I think on December 31st in China and we became aware of this, they said this was just animal to human period."
"Now we know retrospectively that there was ongoing transmission from human to human in China, probably at least a few weeks before then," he said.
Fauci said once the illness hit the U.S. it became evident "that was misinformation right from the beginning."
He added that "whosever fault that was, you know, we're gonna go back and take a look at that when this is all over, but clearly it was not the right information that was given to us."

Pence EXPLICITLY told the members of the task force to not go on CNN.
He defied Pence, it's now Pence's responsibility to fire his sorry butt for insubordination.

I’m not sure that firing Fauci would be the right thing to do. He would then be free to go out and spout his fantasy version of pandemic events, and to participate in the Shiff - Show #2 that is ramping up in the House.
Bring in another physician, but keep Fauci on a short leash and muzzled!
The assumption was Chinese scientists and medical doctors would tell the truth... which lends credence to the theory this was an intentional release of a bio-weapon.

Fauci is a media whore and has been for forty years. He got his start back in the AIDS days and has spent a career not accomplishing anything (ever hear of the Fauci Vaccine?) other than chasing after tv cameras.
Trump needs to fire him, but that would trigger another media onslaught. Fauci is carrying the democrats water. His suckups to hillary are well known. He wants to undermine Trump so Biden will keep him on the job.

On Free Republic there are lots and lots who demand KJV Biblical certainty in life. They can’t accept and will not tolerate uncertainty.
They do not accept science or scientists because they can express uncertainty. Thus those expressing and/or not guaranteeing Biblical certainty are to be criticized and derided.
It’s not a test of Dr. Fallacy, it’s a test of Pence.

I have reserved judgement on Pence. He seems to be doing OK as the coordinator. He needs to corral Fallacy in my view to be considered a boss.
