PALM BAY, Fla. - A Brevard County woman says another woman became upset with her for wearing medical scrubs to the grocery store.
The encounter at a Palm Bay Winn Dixie Wednesday was captured on camera and has been viewed thousands of times.
Juliann Roberts says she wears scrubs because she works at a hearing aid practice. She says the woman first made a comment as Roberts and her friend walked into the store.
"As were in the produce section she came up to us again. She started saying its not right to wear scrubs in the grocery store. We're spreading the virus. You can see how the general public would think that’s not safe," Roberts recalled.
"At first I was very alarmed, and then just a few moments into it, I realized were in the middle of a pandemic and are scared and that’s why this lady acting this way," Roberts said.
Roberts says the woman threatened to call police for recording her. Eventually, store management asked that the two parties stay on different ends of the store. Police say the woman in the video was not arrested.
Shouldn’t they be getting discounts and special store hours devoted exclusively to them? If anything...they are the heroes in the battle.
People wearing scrubs because they work in health/medical are *less* likely to be spreading the virus than the regular run of people, because they are more likely to follow proper hygiene standards due to training and work requirements.
A treater of covid patients wearing scrubs to the store IS a frightening scenario.
Of course it’s not supposed to happen.
I had been a follower on twitter of some doctor in NYC that posted a lot. Until he posted about how understanding his apartment neighbors are when he takes his scrubs off in the hallway rather then bringing them in loose to his family in the apartment.
What an idiot. And I can’t imagine that the hospitals aren’t set up for people in contact with any infectious disease isn’t set up for, and requires decontamination of the workers before they leave the site.
I unfollowed him. I don’t want to get information from someone that is so stupid.

It’s a pet peeve of mine that people wear there scrubs out in public. Very unprofessional. This goes back years, before the current situation. They complain about MRSA and stuff like that, but they were their scrubs to the supermarket, and give antibiotics for viral infections. Physician, heal thyself.
The HYSTERIA the media has created in this country is ABSURD!! People are calling the cops on their neighbors for having company, playing with their kids in their yards this has become ridiculous I can’t believe what the damn media was able to achieve with the people of this country!! We have become a nation of snowflakes!!
