Let's open school, work and sports half at a time. For example, in May this year, allow grades K through 2 attend Tues, Thurs and allow grades 3 and 4 attend Mon, Wed and Fri. The school buses will be half full with one child per bus seat. The school building and cafeterias will be half full. Also, for example, allow half of a factory to work on alternating days. Regulate meetings. Also, for example, allow Major League Baseball teams to play in their home park, maybe letting the New York teams play on the road for the first month. Only allow half the capacity of tickets to be sold and require one vacant seat between each used seat. Continue this half open practice until as long as necessary. But by all means, please open up schools, work and baseball in May.
Is that your federal policy or just for your state and local jurisdiction?
Open the barbershops. I need a haircut.
Nope
Just stop. Open it up May 1 Everything. Let us make the decision as to what we shall do
Geez I cant believe how willing conservatives are to have big govt run their lives
Same could be done with almost every restaurant. Half the menu half the staff and maybe save the business. Won’t happen because saving businesses is not a priority.
Half of the Constitution!
Below are NY State statistics. NY has over 180K cases, the largest in the nation, and some clear conclusions can be drawn
87.7% of deaths had at least one serious comorbidity
2/3 of all victims are >70 years old
NY City and 2 adjacent counties are nearly 75% of NY State cases
The data are clear. Unlock they country, particularly the young. Continue strict quarantine of hospitals, and continue to advise elderly to stay in tight quarantine. Keep lock-down orders in place for select few cities and locations with high incidence.
Let the rest of the country return to normalcy.
To PGR88 -— I agree with your analysis and suggestion more than my suggestion. However, I offered my half-way suggestion to US school superintendents, company owners and baseball owners who might get cold feet and keep things closed for months just to be safe.
‘Wont happen because saving businesses is not a priority.’
also won’t happen because restaurants already out of money will not survive at half capacity...
I say we decide every morning who goes out by rock, paper, scissors.
Amen to that. I really need a haircut.
Empty out the crowded cities and create new suburbs. Discourage public transportation, in favor of sports cars and SUVs. Ban reusable shopping bags. Shame celebrities that slobber over each other in public. Double the space between airplane seats in coach. All these things thwart pandemics. Did I miss anything? If even one life is saved, it’ll be worth it.
“also wont happen because restaurants already out of money will not survive at half capacity...”
Okay fine then leave that up to the owner. Half capacity plus carry out might be break even versus bankruptcy. Give them the choice.
I think we should renter by horoscope signs.
LOL! In which case bring back the mullet.
Ludicrous. Guaranteed to exacerbate a bad situation.
I guess we forgot the goal. The goal is for everything to be thoroughly destroyed and no remedies or solutions are needed at this time. The crisis needs to run ITS course by way of the POS leftist cabal. They decide when we can do anything. Welcome to Socialist States of America. Bernie Sanders is laughing his ass off.
Let’s all just get back to normal life.
