By law, the United States only has to offer 66,000 H-2B visas per year," Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson said on his show April 1. "But Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has used his discretionary powers to add 35,000 extra visas. So that's a total of 100,000 workers coming to this country to take jobs during the single biggest unemployment crisis in a century. It's demented."
Insiders say President Donald Trump caught wind of Carlson's segment, and the next day the Department of Homeland Security tweeted that "no additional H-2B visas will be released until further notice." That's the kind of influence journalists can only dream about having.

I’m a fan. Its not necessary to agree with every last thing he says, to note that he is probably the most independent voice on television.
I would say that distinction belongs to Rush Limbaugh.
When he first started I did not like him. He would cut people off to quick. He is a better interviewer now.
“most independent voice on television.”
Second that.
Tucker has really grown. He still gives way too much space to the leftist a-holes he has on but he has improved a lot. Enough that the Antifa goons terrorized his family at their home.
I liked his questioning of John Bolton. We all loved the guy here until he was exposed.
I had a new roof on a couple of months back. Everyone of them were Mexicans. I counted 14 men and one woman came to the house. Some unloaded the materials. Others got the shingles on the room. And another group put them down.
I got to talking to the head guy, a white, Anglo American. He arranged everything for the job, ordering, crew, etc. for his company he worked for. I asked him about the crew. He admitted that only two or three were actually legal. He then told me he did not care, because he could not get anyone else to work. Even with Alabama having 3.5% unemployment rate, he could not get men to do hard, sweaty, labor out in the hot sun or cold winter days. He said even if he did hire a white or black guy, they never lasted a week. He said they pay their guys good money to keep them working and not having turn over after turnover of crew members. He said these illegals would work and not complain. They had family they sent money back to Mexico to. So, they worked.
So, even tho I don't like or agree with illegals, I understand where the guy was coming from. He would not have a business these days unless he did use illegals. He also told me that everyone knew he used them. Even the government. He said nearly all these labor jobs, lawn services, roofing, digging ditches, concrete work, etc., are all nearly illegal Latinos. But, the catching thing is that he said "the government knows we use them. If we didn't we have no company and the government has no tax dollars. So, they leave us alone. (Or words to that general effect).
I have no problems with people who come to America seeking a better life, BUT do it legally. Come in legally. Get the green card. Register. Get a legal social security card. Pay taxes. Become a legal person. Maybe in time, become a citizen. But LEGALLY. Then I would support them. All my ancestors came here from another country a few hundred years ago. All of us did.
He, Levin, Hannity and most importantly, Rush have the President’s ear.
We have been waiting at least my entire adult lifetime for a President like this.
Tucker is more powerful (because he deals in truth) than Newsweek. Next question?
Amen to dat!
Don’t forget that Free Republic is show prep for them quite often. Tony Snow would second that if he could.
He’s good.
I could swear Tucker or his producer watches Free Republic because the similarity of what is being reported is uncanny. Many times I’ve watched Tucker only to know half or more of the stories.
I agree with you. Must see TV.
He is powerful. He is intelligent, articulate and inquisitive.. His left wing rivals are so politically correct and predictable, they have no credibility or influence.
Prediction: Early next week Tucker will ask the big question. This pandemic began in Wusan and spread like wildfire to Iran, Europe and the United States. Yet somehow, someway it did not spread in numbers that could not be hid, to China’s other huge urban centers and regions. Why not? Just how did the majority of the population develop “ herd immunity”? Remember if you were developing a virus as a biological weapon to be deployed for political, economic or military reasons, you would first have to take measures to ascertain the majority of your population is immune or would not be affected. It is conceivable that this herd immunity could have been the result of multiple exposures to many subtypes of the coronavirus and there was natural cross immunity to COVID-19. But why would the local Wusan population not have the same immunity as the rest of the population?
Then again this might be too hot a question for Carlson to ask. If the release of this virus was a deliberate act by the Chinese and America has real proof , it would be a causus belli. Doubt that Trump himself even if he had proof would make the information public.
Fox news? TV? Come on...
These people only wish they had the power of the Internet.
It’s funny that just asking questions and coming to reasonable conclusions based on information and analysis makes you “independent” and “powerful”. I never really knew who Tucker was until he got a TV show. I like him. The wife likes him. We DVR his show and try to catch it when we can.
I really don’t like that Democrat ex-Schumer aide he has on a lot but give him credit for letting other voices speak. I like the Maryland professor, clearly not a Trump supporter, even if I disagree. And I like professor Cornel West though I often disagree with him he sometimes has some great gems of thought. All this shows that Tucker is willing to take information from wherever it comes, process it, and come to conclusion.
That is so much different from the rest of the media, and that’s the crazy part.
