This also reminds me of what I read some years back about one of the doctors involved in the arguments for Roe v Wade in 1973, who a number of years after that Supreme Court decision on abortion admitted that both he and his colleague deliberately inflated the numbers of women who supposedly died from illegal backstreet abortions as part of the argument for legalizing abortion on demand in all states. Anybody else here have the same thoughts?
Yes. The sell will go like this:
“ You really hate Trump right?"
‘”Oh gee, ummm..don’t know. Maybe”
“OK. Why don't you help get rid of the SOB for good and make yourself a fortune too?
“How?”
“Just put “coronavirus” as cause of death on the death certificate that's how. It's easy. Who is going to challenge you? We won't"
Sigh,
Health Care is unlike any other industry, as much as folks like to believe it is not single payor, it already virtually is... 80% of what you spend on health care in your entire life, will be spent during the last 2 years fo your life... on average. And for most Americans that means MEDICARE is paying the bulk of your lifetime medical costs....
Whatever Medicare mandates, the rest of the industry follows suit, because, hospitals and doctors are not going to do a separate different process for you than they do for Medicare, so whatever that(medicare) process is, it is going to be adopted by any company that wants to stay in business long.
You improve revenues in Health Care delivery, not by being a better provider... like in the typical market place, you improve revenues (and profits) by better coding what you did for your patients for reimbursement.
Those that see this as fraud because they are looking at COVID 19, are completely ignorant of how the system works.... Believe a doctor is not intubating you to make more money.
$26,000 extra for using a ventilator.
Hmmm. The GM contract is for 30,000 ventilators for $489.4 million. Each ventilator will cost the ever generous taxpayer about $16,000.
So, each of those ventilators will cost us $42,000 if used once. If twice, $68,000. Thrice? Well, you get the idea.
No wonder everybody’s screaming for them.
Only one CV case in the hospital disrupts the entire applecart forcing all sorts of very expensive change to kick in
Is that not what the huge Jacob K. Javits Center center in Manhattan that was converted into four 250-bed coronavirus hospitals, each about 40,000 square feet in size, with a massive 320 FEMA employees on hand (Thank you President Trump), and another huge emergency coronavirus medical facility at Central Park are for?
Ive had cancer, twice ~ through no fault of my own ... wheres my payout ?????? /s
Chuckle ! And I have a very nice 100 mile skiing slope in the middle of the Sahara Desert to sell ya. A snipe at only $4 Billion.
Believe a doctor is not intubating you to make more money.
Apart from literally hundreds of doctors who have served jail terms for Medicare fraud and another countless thousands who have simply gotten away with it, you are right. NOT!
Yes.
Simple message: follow the money.
Do the hospitals get paid for the ventilators which were sent by the federal government?? That would be akin to my stealing your car and using it for a taxi keeping the money I am paid.
This is turning into Pandora’s Circus.
Heard last night that my accountant went to the hospital with regular old pneumonia (late 60s) He tested positive for Cov19. When I was in his office 2 weeks ago he said he was convinced he had the virus in December in Aruba. He’d had all the symptoms etc. They’ll count him as a victim though.
It’s funny some Freepers thought the Chinese coronavirus figures were fake. Well the New York and other blue state figures are even more fake.
.
Clearly, doctors are being given every incentive by a very political AMA, and Democratic governors, to simply make up coronavirus figures.
.
The latest CDC directive encourages doctors to book deaths with coronavirus as deaths from coronavirus..
.
The more forgery and fraud you commit, the more money you get from the government.
Senator Dr. Scott Jensen: Right now Medicare is determining that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital you get $13,000. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator you get $39,000, three times as much.
Please, your belief that fraud is rampant is nonsense. Are their abusers? Sure... but they generally are private practice doctors who are over billing or performing procedures that are not needed, not ER and ICU Docs!
No ICU/ER doc is intubating a patient, that does not need it, just so he can use a different billing code.
If you think Doctors in the ICU or ER are intubating patients just to get paid more you honestly have ZERO understanding of the industry. Let alone the details of ER and ICU medicine within a hospital.

Just a crazy guy joke.
As an implied anti trumper, you noted events in New York City. In doing so, you omitted 97% of the country and hospitals to which the Javits Center organization don’t apply.
I think you would be right at home among the presstitutes that attend the daily briefings and constantly attempt to demean the President’s efforts
