Health experts are warning the national count of Covid-19 deaths in the United States could be underestimated as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread.
This could be especially true because the reporting data can lag by an average of one to two weeks, according to the latest guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's.
Also, deaths due to Covid-19 "may be misclassified as pneumonia deaths in the absence of positive test results, and pneumonia may appear on death certificates as a comorbid condition," the CDC noted, adding that "analyses to better understand and quantify reporting delays" for Covid-19 deaths and "related causes" are underway. In March, the CDC introduced a new code to accurately capture mortality due to Covid-19 on death certificates.
With that code, the CDC noted that Covid-19 "should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death."
‘What we are seeing is a tip of an iceberg’
When it comes to an accurate count of Covid-19 deaths in the US, "we really are just seeing the tip of the iceberg and a lot of it has to do with the tests we have available," Dr. Panagis Galiatsatos, a pulmonary and critical care physician on the front lines at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, said Monday morning...

BTW - The 3% death totals mentioned with regards to the Spanish flu refers to 3% of the worlds population at that time... Roughly 50 to 60 million deaths in 1919.... Today's equivalent number would be 228,000,000 million deaths.
Hysterical people need to get a grip and put this 'pandemic' into perspective... This is nothing more than a 'worse than' normal flu season and several of these deaths being recorded as covid-19 are likely normal flu deaths.
If they subtracted the non-covid deaths from the covid-19 death totals... The numbers are much less than advertised. They need to keep the numbers up to justify the destruction of economy... But they'll need to count more creatively if they want to get to 228 million.

The letter said that if a patient died of, e.g., pneumonia, and was believed to have been exposed to COVID-19, the death certificate should say that COVID-19 was the cause of death even though the patient was never tested, or never tested positive, for that disease.
The federal government is classifying the deaths of patients infected with the coronavirus as COVID-19 deaths, regardless of any underlying health issues that could have contributed to the loss of someone’s life.
Dr. Deborah Birx, the response coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, said the federal government is continuing to count the suspected COVID-19 deaths, despite other nations doing the opposite.
“There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition, and let’s say the virus caused you to go to the ICU [intensive care unit] and then have a heart or kidney problem,” she said during a Tuesday news briefing at the White House. “Some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue and not a COVID-19 death.

Dr. Anthony Fauci... admitted that seven out of eight deaths attributed to the virus were really caused by one or more other comorbidities. In other words, the patient was on death’s door whether the virus got to them or not.
Dr. Deborah Birx, who everybody seems to like because she dresses so well, admitted those death totals are inflated as a matter of policy.
The same issue is related to the number of deaths in Italy which is attributed to Covid-19. According to Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health:
“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three,” he says. Is the WuFlu being counted differently than Swine Flu? If so why?
I guess the real numbers aren’t bad enough. People are ready for the country to be reopened for business so let’s scare them some more. Keep the sheeple in line. It’s been working beyond our wildest dreams so far. Of course there are a number of Freepers who will celebrate this news because to them the more death the better.
