Our current regiments are:
Hyroxycholorquine 400 mg every 12 hours day #1
400 mg a day thereafter for four more days
Azithromycin 500 mg IV a day for 5 days
So double the hyrdoxychloroquine and double up the azithromysin each day for five days
Epo takes 30 days to boost RBC production
I assure you, you arrogant child, that the physician you have impugned is a first rate clinician at bedside who puts her life on the line everyday to treat sick people, just like the rest of us. If you cannot read her posts, she does not see outpatients...so because you obviously do not understand healthcare, that means she is in the hospital. Gee, I bet she sees these patients as they are the only game in town right now because we are no longer doing anything in hospitals that are largely empty (See MAYO just furloughed a whole lot of doctors because there is no one in the hospitals). The truth is this, Zinc deficiency is incredibly rare. There is no protocol use of zinc in the hospital, and all critically ill patients as she states are under dietitian care to make sure nutrition is correct. I know this because I am an intensivist and she knows what she is talking about
You need to stay in your lane and not promote untrue things because everyone behind a keyboard is a noble laureate in medicine. You at a minimum owe her an apology for your abuse, and you need to back the hell off.
So in your cataclysmic and voluminous load of bullcrap, it appears to me you have never practiced bedside medicine. Wow, most people who know what the hell they are talking about simple say, I am a physician and have practiced whatever specialty for how ever many years. You are waaaaaay out of line. Mom_MD is a Chistian Lady, she would not be playing false ID games on the Internet. The Doctor is treating hospitalized patients. The use of HCQ and zinc and Zpak discussion is over outpatients and walk-ins at doc-in-a-box locations. Dr Z explained he was treating non-hospitalized patients. You would do well to apologize to The Lady and shut up to listen to The Doctor, she has experience at bedside you will never have.

Hopefully your friend is OK now. I have had similar experiences at Yale-New Haven Hospital (and at the Y-NH Spine Center and MRI center). All docs, nurses, techs, etc. were were excellent... 110% dedication, as you said.
Do your patients not have high ferritin levels? If they do, what do you think might be causing it?

I’m kind of in the same boat as you, I think. I understand some of what’s going on, but I don’t have enough of a background in this to keep me from having to try to educate myself every step of the way.
One thing i have wondered about is if azithromycin alone has been tried and what kind of results have been seen with that. I’m beginning to have doubts about the zinc theory and am beginning to think it may be an additive effect of two drugs that have chloroqine’s pH altering property affecting organelles related to the immune system. Maybe zinc is still part of it. Or maybe the drugs are just giving the patients time for their immune systems to kick in by relieving symptoms. One caveat, I may be full of crap.
Just a small addition to my previous post. Dr. Truong uses much smaller dosage of zinc in comparison to Dr. Zelenko or what’s in Dr. Marik’s protocol. Maybe it’s important for the patient not be zinc deficient but large amounts of zinc not needed.

Mom MD made unfounded statements, never backed them up, never defended her statements, never informed the details of her results if any, nor referenced such results, never contributed to the discussion. Mom MD joined the cacophony of those that engage in flawed science which I pointed out in #90 at the bottom in bold. It’s a good bet she’s reading garbage from science fake news.
Anyone following this subject using internet search engines like Google will see page after page of results reporting Trump is pushing untested HCQ, Trump promoting ineffective HCQ, Trump profiting from HCQ, Trump pushing drug with dangerous side effects that are killing people, Trump promoting anecdotal results with no testing, etc etc etc.
And Mom MD folded right in line with these smears by idiot journalists.
Further, Mom MD insulted the good doctor from NY for assuming anyone with sniffles had COVID. That’s a total lie. It’s outrageously false. Such smears are making a few rounds on the internet by some who hate Trump and ‘his HCQ’.
Mom MD doesn’t sound like a ‘Christian lady’ to me. She sounds like a fraud.
If Mom MD wants to return to defend her thesis, I am sure some will gladly listen, I will. That’s all we wanted to see to begin with. But she just mouthed off and insulted people she doesn’t know, smeared a treatment with false statements. And when asked simple questions by participants on this thread, Mom MD waffled.
When people waste our time, we shouldn’t reward them, we shouldn’t defend them. Take note.
I just watched a MedCram youtube video where Dr. Seheult looked at the article I linked to. He said it’s not consistent with what he’s seeing in the COVID-19 patients he’s seeing and explained why. Said he would expect normal O2 in the plasma but low saturation if what was presented in the article was correct, but he’s seeing low O2 in the plasma and low saturation.
Ferritin is also an acute phase reactant as well and can be a no specific indicator of inflammation. I am not seeing a whole lot of elevated ferritin. But even if we were elevated ferritin is the hallmark of hemachromstosis and the solution to that disease is phlebotomy not transfusion.

You are wrong, a closed minded orifice for effluent. It is likely that you would not recognize a Christian Lady on any level.
