In early March, before medical and infectious disease experts were fully aware of the havoc the novel coronavirus was already wreaking in New York City what would soon become the nations epicenter of COVID-19 Dr. Jake Deutsch was ailed by a low-grade fever, body aches, and general malaise.
Already treating dozens of patients with flu-like symptoms at Cure Urgent Care, a walk-in clinic that he founded, Deutsch was suspicious he may have been exposed to the novel virus that was making headlines in the U.S. and beyond, as his patients were testing negative for the flu. At the time, however, there was no way to know for sure.
When diagnostic testing became more available, and when his symptoms failed to improve, Deutsch chose to administer himself a test, ultimately confirming his suspicions: He was positive for COVID-19.
It was a bit of a surprise, Deutsch told Fox News of the results. I remember thinking I kind of wanted to get it over with so I could get back out there [and treat patients].

It was more severe than I anticipated...”
O’k. Next time do a better job of anticipating.
So the virus could have been here a long time ago?? How long

The hypothesis that COVID-19 first started spreading in California in the fall of 2019 is one explanation for the state’s lower than expected case numbers.
And find a better doctor...
How? Get China and WHO to be more upfront earlier when these viruses are detected? Fat chance! Or maybe, better still, get rid of ancient practices that have a nasty habit of creating these monsters? Really fat chance!
It varies a lot; some people have nearly nothing, some people have horrible symptoms. If you suspect you have it, you should rest completely and see how your body reacts. You might be one of the lucky ones and recover quickly. It is definitely a powerful disease that you don’t want to mess with.
And the disease is harder to beat than anticipated. Especially if treating CV like just another flu.
I heard they had immunity...
Further down in the body of the article, he notes that he was treated with hydroxychloroquine, and recovered about 5 days later.
Same as Dr. Zelenko has been saying.
I heard Rush express that possibility today. So....how come they (California) didn't have the same severe reaction like Wuhan back in the fall?
How do you get that? The article is talking about early March.
"The hypothesis that COVID-19 first started spreading in California in the fall of 2019 is one explanation for the states lower than expected case numbers."
If it had spread earlier we wouldn't see the patterns of spreading out from point sources now.
....low-grade fever, body aches, and general malaise....
I dunno. Quite a few weeks ago, I had those symptoms. Following the advice of my medical providers, I did not seek testing, and considered my illness to be a cold. (With the upsurge in demand for testing, I would not have been tested anyway if I asked for it.)
I treated my illness the way my doctor says to treat a cold, and in less than a week, I was feeling fine.
Did I have a cold, or a very mild case of coronavirus? I don’t know. But I would love to be tested for coronavirus immune antibodies when these tests become generally available. Then I could confidently go to Church once our churches open up in May or June.
Thanks for pulling that out of the article.
If it had spread earlier we wouldn't see the patterns of spreading out from point sources now.
If it started back in the Fall before anyone had even heard of it there would be no way assess patterns of spreading by working backwards today.
North Alabama school closed this week due to flu
"Earlier this week, all Lamar County Schools were closed for the week to prevent the further spread of flu."
"According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, significant flu activity has been detected in every county in the state, with the highest levels in the southeastern and northeastern parts of Alabama.
His father, who was on a respirator, also had the same disease, was treated with hydroxychloroquine, and recovered. Quite something since older people with the disease who are put on respirators often die from the disease. Also, he and his father both had it at a fairly advanced stage when they were treated with hydroxychloroquine. Just imagine how much quicker, easier, and cheaper each one’s recovery would have been if each had been so treated immediately after his diagnosis.
It's all speculation and guessing. One possibility is that Californians eat healthier and take better care of their bodies. I know this runs counter to the stereotype spread elsewhere about California. But people to the east smoke more, eat more and are fatter. Californians generally don't smoke, eat salads, and exercise more. Ghetto folks are the exception. When traveling, I'm surprised at how so many people elsewhere in the country are fat and constantly smoking.
Tell Cuomo that there is a cure available. Cuomo doesn’t know what day it is.

thanks for cutting to the chase
Did I have a cold, or a very mild case of coronavirus?
It could very well have been a coronavirus, but not Covid-19. They are responsible for many colds. I seem to recall reading somewhere that coronaviruses tend to cause more severe colds than rhinoviruses. Covid-19, of course, causes an extremely severe cold.
