RUSH: They owe us an explanation. Now, I touched on this yesterday. We are owed a huge explanation. So, 2.2 million deaths. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God, 2.2. We gotta shut it down. And if we mitigate, maybe 240,000 deaths. If we social distance, we stay at home, if we shut down, if we wear masks, we do all this stuff, maybe a hundred thousand to 200,000, maybe 240,000. Guess what?
Sixty thousand. Fauci Slashes U.S. Death Projection, Raising Hope for Reopening. The doomsayers get to get away with everything. Fauci Slashes U.S. Death Projection, Raising Hope for Reopening. What is wrong with this headline? Does Dr. Fauci have anything to do with reopening? Yes. Thats whats wrong with the headline. This is a Bloomberg News story. Top infectious disease official credits social distancing. Im gonna start calling BS on this.
Now, dont misunderstand. Im not saying its not important. Im not saying its not relevant. But there is no way social distancing has made the difference in 2.2 million down to 60,000 dead. There is no way that social distancing made the difference from 240,000 dead projected now down to 60,000 dead. And what do you bet that number gets revised down in the coming days? There has to be something else going on here, and it has to be the projections were wrong in the first place because of the models, and we know that they were wrong.
But these guys get to revise their projections and hold on to their expertise status throughout the entire process. I just dont believe social distancing has suddenly changed the data that lowers the forecast death toll from 240,000 to 60,000. Were not stupid here.
And Ill give you another bit of evidence for why I dont believe this. California, oh, man, is this a huge See, I Told You So. Stanford researchers are now thinking, you know what, maybe it was herd immunity. Maybe the virus has been in California since last fall, and maybe in California theyve developed an immunity to it, herd immunity. Most of the people that have been exposed to it got antibodies cause it makes no sense that in a state of 40 million the death toll is still under I forget what it was 750 a few days ago. Its phenomenally low.
In the state of Oregon practically statistically zero deaths. And its not because of social distancing. They told us, they tried to tell us that social distancing is what made the difference in California. California had a two-day head start on social distancing over New York. New York has more deaths than Italy. Are you telling me see, were not stupid here. And you arent, either. Youre telling me that a two-day head start on social distancing in California is the reason why there are so few deaths in California compared to New York?
The data is bad. The input data was bad. We told you this my first day back. When I found out that that U.K. modeler could change his outcome from 500,000 dead in the U.K. to 20,000 dead simply by factoring in social distancing, then what good was the first model? And if the model has that wide a variance, if you can input one data point and create this massive shift in outcomes on the model, what goods the model?
But these people get to hold on to their expert status throughout all of these revisions. They havent been right from the get-go. But the doomsayers are never wrong because whatever ends up happening, they can claim credit for it because of their mistakes. Well, yeah, of course we overshot, but because we overshot we scared the hell out of people, people social distanced, people stayed home. Of course our work is responsible for this. Its just the way it works. And everybody got scared. Cant blame em. Everybody got scared into using the data that was trumpeted, put out.
But we are owed an explanation.
One of President Donald Trumps top medical advisers slashed projections for U.S. coronavirus deaths on Thursday, saying that only about 60,000 And, by the way, I dont mean to say that 60,000 is insignificant. Those are people. They are loved ones. They are part of families. Im not trying to be cavalier about it. Im simply talking about the statistics and the numbers.
Remember, we started with 2.2 million, and they did that on purpose so that they could show great success, 2.2 million, now 60,000. Look at the great work. No. Thats not the way to look at because 2.2 was never an active, real number, and we shut down a $22 trillion economy because of it. And now the death is 60,000, which is on par with the number of flu deaths in America every year.
They told us that this week, remember, This is gonna be oh ho, the next two weeks its gonna be armageddon, its gonna be the apocalypse, its like gonna be bad. And in these two weeks theyre revising everything down. Remember, they said these two weeks, you better expect the worst. We may not have a country after these next tweaks. There may not be enough people to go back work. Its gonna be bad, its gonna be really, really bad out there.
Now theyre revising the numbers down, the death numbers down during the apocalypse week. Its a Bloomberg story, by the. The falling projection, the result of aggressive social distancing behaviors Americans adopted to curb the spread of the virus, may accelerate Trumps effort to develop a plan to urge Americans to leave their homes and return to work next month.
Ill tell you something Im a little worried about. How many people are gonna be scared to leave their homes? How many Millennials are gonna be scared to death to leave? Theyre scared to death anyway. They make up the snowflake generation. Theyre scared by a shadow of a conservative on a college campus. It doesnt even take a real conservative to scare em on a campus, just the shadow of one. And if theyre scared of a conservative shadow on a college campus, are they gonna be scared to go back to work? Be concerned. Well have to wait and see if it happens.
So heres Dr. Fauci. The real data
The real data? Oh, were talking about real data now?
The real data are telling us that it is highly likely that were having a definite positive effect by this mitigation things that were doing this physical separation so I believe we are gonna see a downturn in that. And it looks more like the 60,000 than the 100,000 to 200,000. But having said that, we better be careful that we dont say, OK, were doing so well we can pull back.'
Uh I (sigh) Folks, theyre gonna have to explain this, and I know how theyre gonna do it. The doomsayers are gonna tell us, Hey, theyre already setting the stage for doing it, our policies, our requests for social distancing and all that made all the difference. I dont
If were gonna say that, that means we have to trust the computer modeling data and thats the data thats been all over the place, 2.2 million, 200,000, 100,000, 240,000, 500,000 U.K. The numbers have been all over the place, revised down
Good visual to show how we’ve all been had....
The is what you feel. There is no way to prove that. Let’s face it...we were (and continue to be had.
Oh, please . Panic is unbecoming .
Your grandchildren and great grandchildren will despise you for allowing this bizarre defect spending .
Your grandchildren and great grandchildren will despise you for allowing this bizarre defect spending .
Well, it seems to me if everyone goes back on the move, we will know in short order what the death and infection rates will look like sans mitigation.
Or, stated differently...They're cooking the books?
These models were done WITH the mitigation in the program the outcome has absolutely NOTHING to do with mitigation they were dead wrong PERIOD!!!
Im against the spending, and far more against the quarantine.
I think this horrid virus from China may have a silver lining. Many people are insensed at China for hiding the facts about the Covid-19. Where exactly in Wuhan did it come from, a wet market or a government lab. Why did the Chinese government punish their doctors who attempted to warn others about a possible pandemic. Why did the Chinese say there was no evidence of human to human transmission? Why did the Chinese government withhold medical supplies to the U.S. and other western countries?
I believe we need to bring back our medical manufacturing to the U.S. and our drug manufacturing as well. I believe most sane people would agree with our President Donald Trump who has said this is in our vital national interest.

Their medical degrees don’t prevent them from being corrupt deep state players. Both support Hillary.
I think you're coming to an incorrect conclusion based on the numbers.
King county for example is reporting almost 200 new positive results every single day. They are decreasing but increasing. https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/communicable-diseases/disease-control/novel-coronavirus/data-dashboard.aspx So far New York state has tested about 400,000 people. Oregon only 25,000. California only 177,000. I think the reason WHY it took off faster in New York once it hit was because the spread is slower in Washington, Oregon and California. This is due not only to active mitigation factors but also due to the fact that things are spread out more. New York is super concentrated.
If it had already moved through those states then for SURE it would have already moved through new york. It's much more of an international hub.
So the virus is still growing in Cal, Oregon and Washington but it's finding less susceptible victims because things are shutdown.
Two months ago none of their detractors had ever heard of them. Now everyone is an expert on the private politics of both. It’s inconcievable to these wizards that they could be dedicated to their profession and not be members of a secret cabal.
Where do you get that information from?
You hit the bullseye. Besides having greater population density, NYC residents ride elevators and the subway. Both are great vectors for a virus.
SoCal is not only lower in density, it is a car culture and a land of single family homes. Without doing anything extra we already have dramatically lower social contact than NYC.
It sure is. But it's certainly not above President Trump's paygrade. President Trump is smarter than Rush. He's got more access to high end intelligence than Rush. He's more politically attuned than Rush. He knows the enemy better than Rush.
The bottom line is that President Trump saw a threat. He gathered resources to fight the threat and he is beating the threat. Our country overall is doing remarkably well against this virus. IF nothing had been done at all there would be well over 2 million dead before it was over. President Trump SAVED lives. You dolts better get on board with him and quit enabling the left.
It’s coming from Rush. He was repeating that.
This is a novel virus, meaning it’s not been seen before so there is and was no way to know how it will actually behave. It’s closest relative is SARS-1 back in 2003, so that’s what the virus hunters had to use as an early model. SARS-1 had a death rate of almost 9%. That’s very high.
China didn’t report the outbreak until December 31st. And when they did they said there was no human to human transmission. The first US case was January 21st. So all of our direct knowledge has come in 2 1/2 months.
Despite China’s fake official reports the CDC could see how they were panicking in Wuxan. And then we got the reports from Italy, which reinforced the idea that this is a very dangerous virus. In both cases it was collapsing the local medical systems. For those watching this develop it’s no surprise that they took it very seriously based upon limited knowledge.
I see.
Youre signaling that you are also on Chinas payroll.
Figures.
