Where do you get that information from?
It’s coming from Rush. He was repeating that.
This is a novel virus, meaning it’s not been seen before so there is and was no way to know how it will actually behave. It’s closest relative is SARS-1 back in 2003, so that’s what the virus hunters had to use as an early model. SARS-1 had a death rate of almost 9%. That’s very high.
China didn’t report the outbreak until December 31st. And when they did they said there was no human to human transmission. The first US case was January 21st. So all of our direct knowledge has come in 2 1/2 months.
Despite China’s fake official reports the CDC could see how they were panicking in Wuxan. And then we got the reports from Italy, which reinforced the idea that this is a very dangerous virus. In both cases it was collapsing the local medical systems. For those watching this develop it’s no surprise that they took it very seriously based upon limited knowledge.
Go to: covid19.healthcare.org. It says, “Covid19 projections assuming full social distancing through May 2020.” The new U.S. death estimate is 60,000. A few days ago it was 80,000 and before that 100,000. All of these estimates have assumed social distancing.
