The flip side of this is that those large businesses first have to figure out how much BUSINESS they'll even have when this comes to an end.
I've suggested here that I wouldn't be shocked if 50% of the restaurants in this country will never open again even if everything is back to "normal" TOMORROW.

You're thinking service industry, and you're probably correct about that, but I'm thinking several layers deeper than that one.

"Around here a lot of restaurants are limiting the damage by doing take out/delivery. People are ordering food for delivery to hospitals, police departments, etc. There are also a lot of small businesses here selling gift cards to generate cash flow during the gap. I've pre-paid my hair appointment (scheduled remotely for May), and supported an online concert by a local folk music duo. People are being pretty innovative and supportive of local businesses. I think most are still OK but we need to get things going soon.
