There are normally about 150 +/-10 deaths per day in NYC from all causes combined. Since last Monday they are averaging about 420/day attributed to COVID-19 - so even if *all* of the normal deaths were misapplied and you “corrected” by shifting 150 deaths per day out of the COVID category, you’d still have a nearly 200% increase in deaths.
"Maybe, maybe, maybe". Without testing, we simply DO NOT KNOW.
Get the data FIRST, THEN reopen the economy IF THE DATA JUSTIFIES IT.
Pick a population of 100,000K, statistically at random throughout the US, and send them "self-swab" test kits. Then we will KNOW, and "maybe" disappears.

I - along with a few others - have been tracking various CV sources and reports for weeks now. Last week news started surfacing about the extent of CV miss-classification (in order to receive federal medical reimbursements).
It is now obvious from the reporting sources that this is what is occurring. There are now large statistical anomalies and trend reversals - far outside any prior patterns, especially matched against prior control groups.
So, forget CV mortality rates or infection rates ("cases"). The fog of war has indeed completely obscured the battleground. As of now, we have to go on intuition, and trust that Trump has good instincts.

pneumonia have mysteriously 'trailed off':

In the last three years my son has spent nearly 300 days in the hospital due to an illness that has symptoms exactly like the coronavirus.
It starts in the lungs and raises holy hell.

I have not seen anything that says COVID-19 is 20x worse than the seasonal flu, so I'd appreciate some context. It's 20x worse as far as what? Contagiousness? Mortality?
The last I heard, NYC still allows mass-transit on subways and buses. If you wanted to create a viral cesspool, mass-transit is the way to go. I don't care what precautions one takes--they should've shut down their mass transit system weeks ago, if they thought this was an issue.

Add to that that even the “official” death numbers tell me that only two people within a 70 mile radius of me have died of this virus. I have more important things to worry about, like the survival of the businesses around me that have been shut down due to this farce.

My argument lies in the Constitution.
There is no legal basis for shutting down the entire country, and the economic damage this shutdown will cause will be far worse than the ChiComflu.

Yes, ‘foolish example’ but if a plane with 300 passengers were to crash and no survivors, if ONE of the crew may have ‘shown signs’ of CV all 300 or so deaths would be attributed TO CV..
Now, if they said the 300 or so died as a result of CV, it could/would be a factual statement

‘they’ should not be counted as HAVING CV, which these clowns are prone to do.
