In late October 2016, less than two weeks before the presidential election, a former adviser to then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, George Papadopoulos, denied to an FBI confidential source that the campaign was involved in the circumstances surrounding the hack of the Democratic National Committee's email system, calling the idea "illegal."
CBS News has now reviewed the transcript of the conversation between Papadopoulos and the confidential source working for the FBI, and has published key excerpts below.
The recorded conversation between Papadopoulos and the confidential source working for the FBI was documented in the December report issued by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz into the FBI's surveillance of campaign aide Carter Page and other actions related to the FBI probe known as "Crossfire Hurricane." But the excerpts of the transcript published here provide new details about the interaction between Papadopoulos and the FBI source in the final days of the presidential campaign.

Wow that was weird. CBS wrote a fairly accurate accounting of what the transcript said, without their usual input of extraneous inane information. And Horowitz had the FBI dead to rights and then totally excuse them for their misbehavior. Nobody goes to jail.

The FBI knew from day one that it was BS that Trump was involved.
When I am looking for some kind of entertainment on TV these days, I avoid any program where the FBI is shown as the good guys. They are not good guys.
The top dogs in the FBI could not get away with what they have done, and continue to do, without the support of the people under them. No surprise. They hired and promoted the people under them.

Didn’t read the article. I hope, because I always liked Catherine, that it was fair and balanced.
If not, shame on her.
I don’t know what Catherine Herridge has on the stooges at cbs. Somehow she is able to report with minimal muzzling by the head stooges. I accused her of selling out when she left Fox for big time broadcast fakery. I was wrong and am pleasantly surprised by her honest reporting.
