Santa Clara County (California) Health Office has issued an order asking for the inventory of large amounts of personal protective equipment (PPE)/any ventilators in SCC. This ensures that the County knows what resources exist. If you have large amounts of PPE or any ventilators, please fill out the survey by April 15:
www.sccgov.org/cv19ppe. Survey results are confidential.
The situation with Santa Clara County beds, ICU, a Ventilators, and surge capacity does not look bad so far:
That certainly IS strange.
Do they think someone/groups are harboring them? Since they’re asking for the inventory of ‘large amounts’....as in...they were stolen?
Or, just asking Joe Schmoe to please help fill their stockpile?
Interesting.
Prudence?
No, it is to rob the people who were prudent.
The quantities required for an “entity”/individual to have to report in are quite high...over 500 masks for example. Looking for “big inventories” I guess. Not regular home-use amounts.
The “Request/Order” came through an all points bulletin text/alarm today. Everyone with a cell phone received it. I don’t want this level of communication with my government. But then again we live in a state where electronic highway signs warn us “ Caution- Watch for Pedestrians. (Homeless).
When you click on the link, you will see the shopping list of things they want to inventory. They are asking for large quantities to be reported such as >5,000 nitrile gloves; >100 goggles; >500 surgical masks; >100 8-ounce hand sanitizer bottles. These quantities would be in warehouses or perhaps large corporation disaster stocks.
I got the text AND an email AND a phone call. I cant escape!
Or, a highway sign that read, “Practice Social Distancing No Tailgating”. My husband and I were traveling home to WNY from Georgia and saw the sign and laughed out loud.
As long as you stay there and pay taxes you are feeding the beast.
Yeah, I might have 200 or so nitrile gloves (non-sterile!) in the garage for oil changes, etc. ...how much is the county going to offer me?? ;-)
They sent out an alert to all phones in the area.
It was strange.

I got some extra rolls of TPs...do those count as PPEs?
They must’ve done it a bunch of times...
I think they are trying to send to states who need them more at this time!! CA. has very low numbers!!
Good point maybe its a national inventory to see what can be sent to critical hot spots.
So far, resources here in Santa Clara County seem to be adequate.
