Appearing at the podium for what we think of as traditional press briefings is only a small part of what a press secretary does for the President.

Most of their work is done behind the scenes and I imagine it is a pretty hectic position where much of your work is putting out the fires that erupt each day, organizing surrogates and making sure they have the right message, and monitoring the daily news cycle to stay ahead of stories.

In short, she should expect to be the hardest working person in the White House.

The Press Secretary hasn't appeared at the podium for a couple of years so that small part is gone.

Most of their work is done behind the scenes and I imagine it is a pretty hectic position where much of your work is putting out the fires that erupt each day, organizing surrogates and making sure they have the right message, and monitoring the daily news cycle to stay ahead of stories.

Trump appears more than capable of doing that on his own.
