During the White House Wuhan coronavirus task force briefing Tuesday evening, Dr. Deborah Birx said the United States has taken a "liberal approach" in the way doctors classify deaths from the virus.
"The intent is right now if someone dies with COVID-19, we're counting that as a COVID-19 death," Birx said. "There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition and let's say the virus caused you to go the ICU and then have a heart or kidney problem. Some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue and not a COVID-19 death."

There is a difference between dying from something and dying with something. The way Wuhan coronavirus deaths are counted matters for a number of reasons, but most importantly, its "lethality" has been the driving force behind a country wide economic shut down.
This is remarkable. Dr. Birx says here very plainly that anyone who dies “with COVID-19” is being counted as having died from COVID-19. She admits this is a “liberal approach” to recording mortality. The suspicions many of us had are now confirmed.

According to the latest numbers compiled under this classification by Johns Hopkins University, there are 398,185 positive diagnoses, 21,849 recoveries and 12,844 deaths.
Have they ever counted the number of deaths in the USA due to sickness and disease in March 2019 to see how it compared in March 2020?

She is clearly saying that if someone dies in a car wreck and tests positive for COVID19, it is considered a COVID19 death.
No wonder our death rate is so high. LOTS of people die every day. If a fair number of them are asymptomatic positive testers, that bumps up the death numbers from COVID19 like crazy.

So let’s say there are 158 deaths per day from all causes, but ALL of them are falsely attributed to Covid19. That would mean that everyone in NYC is positive for Covid19, 10 million people. So first, forget about social distancing, everyone already has it. Now let’s see if you clever readers can answer the next question - why did 806 people die in NYC yesterday when the normal death rate is 158? In order to blame all these deaths on Covid19, the NYC officials have to come up with another 648 dead people. So either they are just using fake death certificates with made up names on them - or possibly, when someone dies, they put the body in an ambulance and take it in the front door of the hospital again, so that the death is counted multiple times. Doctors are like that, sneaky government bureaucrats working with George Soros to take way your freedom. But there is no Covid19 crisis, right guys?
As with several other high-profile medical recommendations over the past 20 years, it has become acceptable to lie — to falsify data — if doing so serves a “higher purpose”. Science doesn’t work that way ... and the truth always comes out(though sometimes well after the damage caused by the lies has been inflicted).
That’s really going to be the key thing. Sometime in 2021 they will count up all the deaths in 2020 and compare it with 2019, 2018, 2017 and then be able to make a rough assessment of how bad this really was.
I understand there is debate about someone with COVID-19 having a heart attack and dying. Is that a COVID-19 death? Or someone with leukemia who dies with COVID-19 in their body. How is that counted? I don’t personally care very much.
But clearly a lot of people who die with COVID-19 were going to die before Dec 31 anyway. People who are old and sick die of something. The key question is — how elevated in the US death rate this year? Time will tell.

A good contrast is Germany whose mortality rate with Covid 19 is only .8, less than 1%. Germany requires a forensic autopsy and it only gets counted as a covid death if covid is the direct cause of death, not like most nations that count it as a covid death if covid coincidentally exists although the direct cause was from a preexisting condition

I’ll agree that as written, the criteria can be a bit difficult to follow, especially if you are not used to reading them - but they are consistent with how they’ve categorized deaths from flu and other diseases, and do not do what is stated in those tweets.
Her actual statement does not say what is posted above.
So you like my theory that the death number are being falsified? Here’s another way they could do it. Take a dead squirrel on the side of the road, and put it in an ambulance, and count it as a Covid19 death. Or take dead people from China, bring them to New York City, and count them as a NYC Covid death. I tell you, Soros and Pelosi will stop at nothing to take away our freedom.
Personally, I don’t believe the old model, and I don’t believe the new model.

Not only is it unpredictable, everyone exposed to it, or at risk of being exposed to it, is also unpredictable, except when it comes to lying.
The only accurate picture of what happened will be at the end of it, that is up and until people start describing it, at which point, they will lie.
It seems to me for developed nations the most revealing Wuhan P4 China Virus statistic is hospitalizations - - a patient tests positive, and is in serious enough condition to be hospitalized. Third world statistics are almost meaningless.
Deaths, cases, incinerations (in China), etc. have variable standards all over the world.
Life insurance companies have reams of data on proportioning losses. No reason they couldn’t create a formula, perhaps something like lost months of life from ‘premature death from CV’.
Incentives for hospitals are all in the direction of overclassifying deaths as CV. If nothing else, federales will pay them for treating uninsured (many of whom they created with the lockdown).
Hospitals will join media in resisting an end to the gravy train (for two different reasons). There will be two lessons learned - hospital administrators have discovered an ally in media, so next time they will get money train rolling down the track even quicker - and - these administrators will load up on supplies and send bill to Uncle Sugar.
