The unprecedented policy of mass quarantine to "flatten the curve" is only prolonging the coronavirus pandemic, contends a veteran scholar of epidemiology.
The virus could be "exterminated" within weeks if people were allowed to lead normal lives and the vulnerable were sheltered until the virus passes, said Knut Wittkowski, Ph.D., the former head of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design at the Rockefeller University in New York City.

The problem is that they don’t want everyone getting it at once and inundating the system.
Makes a lot of sense. That said., this idea is not a good one for the marxists, RATs, and deep state scum. Dragging it out and ruining the country so they can remake it into their Utopian Nightmare World Order run by them is what the plan is.
Plenty of otherwise healthy people are dying, young too. We are close to a proven treatment however the democrats and the media are cheering for more death. That is the only problem here, get the HCQ treatment in every pharmacy, and allow GP’s to prescribe via TeleVisit based on symptoms, no test necessary.
Viruses rise and fall along predictable curves.
Flattening the curve means prolonging the duration.
He is not wrong about this.
The goal has to be to manage the curve so that we don’t overflow and crash the health care system. Preventing people from catching it is actually not possible.
No, not a given. If the slope is negative, the time will be reduced. What you argue is that there is a continued positive slope. If there is any significant -Δt, the duration won't be prolonged
The problem is that they dont want everyone getting it at once and inundating the system.
Every graph I have ever seen shows a much more gradual curve on the downside than on the upside.
As of this morning Tarrant County TX has 517 sick people and 18 deaths with a population of 2million+. We have been sheltered in place for several weeks. Unbelievable. Thousands have already lost their jobs and they cant even look for another one.
I weep for my country.
Viruses rise and fall along predictable curves.
Unless they are manufactured not to do so.

You may have answered your own question there.
World Nut Daily?
Pass.
“The problem is that they dont want everyone getting it at once and inundating the system.”
That’s why we’d keep the old folks quarantined. Everyone else would have a very low hospitalization rate.
nobody is discussing that this is still an old folks disease, primarily.
What he/she said multiplied many times.
I'm not so sure that is an accurate statement. I'd say it is more of a disease for the unhealthy at any age than for just a certain age demographic. People of all ages with underlying health conditions seem to be the most at risk. Sure more old people appear to be affected but only because they have more of the risk factors due to their age which is natural.

Here is a YouTube interview:
Incorrect. All diseases create additional stresses on the body that cause higher mortality among the vulnerable. Covid-19 creates fewer stresses than the normal seasonal flu, as the seasonal flu has a larger proportion of fatalities among the young than Covid-19 does. This is an indisputable fact. If Covid-19 put more stress on the more vulnerable, you'd see more infant mortality than the flu. Covid-19 is resulting in more deaths because the population does not have any base of immunity (to lower both the spread and the severity). But all diseases are dangerous to the weak; we should be thankful that Covid-19 is so mild...
Whatever, I’ll not waste any more of my time here.
