Democrats warn people will die as courts rule Wisconsin's election on for Tuesday

WASHINGTON - Wisconsin's controversial election is back on for Tuesday, and voters will get no extension on the deadline to return absentee ballots despite the coronavirus crisis, thanks to two top courts that sided with Republicans on Monday.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, issued an executive order Monday afternoon postponing the election to June 9, citing the public health risk. But the state Supreme Court hours later overturned the governor, siding with the Republican-controlled Legislature, which had challenged his order.

Later in the day, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Wisconsin Republicans on a separate issue, voting 5-4 along ideological lines to overturn a lower federal court's decision to extend a deadline for absentee balloting.

Results will not be released until April 13, however, the Wisconsin Election Commission decided in an emergency meeting Monday, citing a part of the lower court ruling the Supreme Court did not overturn.

If you can safely go to the gas station, drug store, grocery, or pizza-pick-up shop....then you can safely go and vote. If your plan is to lick the doorknob of the polling station, French-kiss the polling lady, or sip from the same whiskey bottle as the last twelve guys at the polling site....it’s best that you just stay home.

What a crock, These administrators can’t devise a plan for voting? On our base overseas went to the commissary and the implemented plan to allow only 65 customers in at a time based on spacing. Everyone wearing masks, cleaning hands and baskets with wipes. All cashiers wearing approp gear, with plastic between each cashier. They are wearing gloves, and even wipe your cards back. They have red tape spacing and people in store reminding to keep distances. So Dems work on your plan. Even at our church we streamed on internet and were able to pickup palms with a drive up in our cars. So it can be done.

Are sure that it was the U.S. Supreme Court that ruled, and not the WI supreme court?

A lot of democrats are marginal voters.

This gives them just another reason not to go out and vote.

Many of them will just stay home that is what the dems are worried about.

“The Wisconsin Supreme Court put the state’s presidential primary back on track on Monday (April 6), ruling that Democratic Governor Tony Evers cannot postpone in-person voting to June due to the coronavirus.”

It wasn’t the USSC that ruled, it was the WI state supreme court.

I agree. If Democrats are stupid enough to think that it’s okay to grocery shop or go into a pharmacy what have you, but not to vote well then they should stay home. Stay inside. Stay in and stay safe Dems! Do your part overcome this scourge!

Here in Wi, the local media had been urging people for weeks to either vote early or request an early mail-in ballot. My wife and I mailed ours in over a week ago. Really no reason to have to postpone the election.

Buy a roll of 50/50 tickets. Give them out in order to people in their cars. Call numbers one at a time for folks to walk in, vote, go home. Wipe down the polling machine, call out “next”.

If delicatessens can figure it out, why can’t Democrats?
