The world may never get back to what it considered normal before the coronavirus emerged from Wuhan, China a little over three months ago and spread to more than 1.3 million people across the world, U.S. health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said at a White House press briefing Monday.
Gradually, well be able to function as a society. But youre absolutely right, if you want to get to pre-coronavirus, that might not ever happen in the sense that the threat is there.

I’m also beginning to rethink the “herd immunity” strategy.
Even if the country was opened back up tomorrow, it would take a long time to recover from the damage that our economy has already suffered. If, god forbid, a second wave came later this year, that could be a fatal blow.
I never thought I would agree with the Swedes, but their herd immunity policy may be the only option. And I don’t say this lightly; Just today, a lady from my hometown died from the virus. She worked as a nurse for a nursing home.
I also know two others from my hometown who had the virus but, luckily, they survived. One was also a nurse.
Luckily, the county where I now reside has reported only one case.
We should keep our eyes on Sweden to see if their policy is successful. It is simply not feasible to keep the US on lockdown, with another possible lockdown in the fall or winter. That would be national suicide.
There is one thing that I’m sure of: Dr. Doom and Dr. Scarf need to be ignored. Without a doubt, they are Deep State Globalist tools who are dangerous to the US and Trump.
There WERE changes to society in the wake of the Black Death. Labor rates went up due to the shortage of laborers. The demand for tapestries had grown because the wealthy had used them to block deadly air coming into their homes. And do in. But there is always change. Youre right that life settled down and eventually the plague was nothing more than a memory.
This guy is an absolute fool as far as Im concerned at this point..
Book smart but a fool

Yes. Stopped reading when I read this gem:
The worst outbreak is in the U.S. where there are more than 362,000 cases and at least 10,781 deaths
“We were focused on the threats from the Islamic World the past two decades only to get screwed by China.”
Agreed.
“That is one of the most profound statements I’ve ever read here. Excellent observation.”
Also agree. In many ways, we lost what could be called our national innocence that day.
People who are disturbed can drink some more snake oil and booze, then they’ll feel normal again. The society has become increasingly more abnormal in my opinion since 1968.

As the American people face what the World Health Organization has deemed a public health emergency, we need a strong leader who understands the importance of good governance, expertise and diverse perspectives in bringing outbreaks under control.
The next election provides an opportunity to safeguard the health of people both in the US and around the world. We hope the Democratic candidates will outline what they would do to respond to the current coronavirus crisis and how they would prevent future epidemics through investments in research, expertise and infrastructure.

Really? I wasn't aware of this. Who is her husband and how are they connected to the Clinton Foundation?
Thanks for those links. My eyes are glazing over at the moment (I really should be in bed, lol), but I’ll do my best to read up on Birx tomorrow... er, later today in the daylight. :-)
We should have let MacArthur nuke China during the Korean War. He also wanted to spread a belt of radioactive cobalt along the border between China and Korea to prevent them from invading Korea for at least another 60 years. Were going to have to have the guts to take serious action against China after this mess, or else we will just go through it again at some point, either accidentally or intentionally. If we dont work to overthrow the Communist Chinese government, we will at best suffer through more pandemics like this, which will destroy civilizations and economies, or at worst we will end up in an all-out war with them. Given their arrogance, there is a 100% chance one or both of those scenarios will happen if we dont stop them now.
See post #50 on this thread.
To finish what was started under Odinga, the fundamental transformation of America
It’s about time to get this guy out of the government and let him have his own show on CNN or MSNBC
He’s wrong. Over time, when people don’t see an immediate threat, the fear drops off pretty quickly. I can understand plenty of people who would like to lock themselves up for good, but plenty would at least want to walk outside and interact with more than just their family with more than just the internet or phones when they get the chance.
There’s also the real threat that nations south of the border will give us back the virus by their people crossing the border.
There will be a second wave, brought in from South of the border.
